It was not a success. Nothing was. Very hard day in full sun and a strengthening breeze. Fished deep most of the time with not a touch. Finally relented and fished the aerators and picked up two. They are turned on in the summer to keep the water oxygenated and there are always fish high up in the water enjoying the air rich water. Its last resort stuff though as its hardly particularly skillful. Will give Coldingham a rest until water temperatures subside, The fish there seem just to switch off when it gets warm rather than finding the depths and continue to feed. Just another fishing mystery as to why that is the case.Been busy tying some boobys for deep water fishing. Longer tail for more movement and bright so they can be seen at 20 feet + depth. Will try them out on Coldingham on Wednesday and let you know if they have been a success.
