whats his contract situation....do we still have him under contract for a few years or could this lad get away? cheers

EDIT: His contract ends June 2019 if reports are correct....looks like we need to start working on a new contract for him over the summer...

Play him or I think we can forget it. In that sense Mahrez situation presents an opportunity.

Some people came to the conclusion that he’s not ready after 180 minutes of football this season. In them 180 minutes, he’s showed more than enough that he warrants a place in this team. He doesn’t look out of place at all.
He must surely start at Wigan, with that game sandwiched between Basel away and the League Cup Final I imagine we'll be looking at resting some key players given the injury situation.

personally think he's better on the left than sterling. like sane he wants to create pressure on the defence. sterling is really good over on the right but not as sharp over on the left.
not sure if it's to the point of starting him over sterling rather starting both on the wings if bernardo needs to come inside.
that point can't be too far away. certainly less of a risk putting diaz on the wing than zinchenko at left back and pep seems comfortable doing that.

I think last night was his turning point. In 15 mins he could have scored 3, showed unbelievable calmness and vision with that chip, and induced a moronic challenge when in the process of skinning Phillips. His maturity and decision making was outstanding for someone that young playing only his 3rd or 4th game. If Merlin is out I'd definitely play him on the left on Saturday, put Sterling on the right where he is miles better, and Bernardo in the middle with Kev. So glad now that Mahrez and Sanchez fell through. Could be the chance this little genius needs.

Now's the time to show some faith in him if the club genuinely see a future for him here. It's a two way street and I wouldn't blame him whatsoever for not signing an extension if he doesn't get some decent game time in the second half of the season. Plenty of top clubs will be after him.

We have next to no depth in senior attacking options for the next few weeks, the league more or less wrapped up and still in 4 competitions with some players needing some serious rest if we are to go deep in the CL. No excuse not to give him some games and by that, not 10 minute cameos - he should be getting some starts.

Cant help but see a similarity to Messi in him.

Let him achieve what Sterling have achieved then compare him to Messi :) .

Anyway, I think he should play on the left so Sterling can go back to play on the right.

He is more direct than Bernardo, Silva or any other player Pep will Put there.

Sorry. Not a comparison as that would be stupid at this stage. Just see a lot of similarities
