British bands that went 'American'

Interviewing a band on Thurs called The Wave Pictures who have a new double-album due out that is heavily influenced from a recent trek across America.

So many other Brit bands have gone all Americana after travelling/touring that vast landscape but the only fuckers who come to mind are U2!

Can anyone think of others?

Depeche Mode did it for a bit in the mid to late 80's resulting in their album 101 before they came to their senses and released Violator.

Queen. When they made the abomination that was Hotspace.
The original It Bites. I believe it was trying to pander to the American market caused them to split. Back to form now though, IMO of course.
