Gareth Barry

Well said!

As well as all his club managers he also has been picked by all his national team managers who are a pretty diverse bunch.

He is one of those players who the pros and every manager he has played for has been able to see what he brings to a team, as have the fans of every club he has played for, while the masses tended not to appreciate so much.

In my eyes he would be a far more worthy and dignified record holder than the current one

Sadly, this will not get half the media acclaim and coverage that the brothers wife shagger got for the same achievement, even though he has been an absoloute model professional and superb role model.

chiefly because he isn't at the rags lets be honest....plus he has never played for them nor the dippers - he will have to surpass the achievements of Terry Paine before the press give credit where its due. Took a lot of shit off the Villa ( where are they now? ) fans when he left - always put in a shift for us and will - like all former blues - have the respect of supporters who know their football.

Congratulations to Gareth Barry, a player who played a big part in raising City to where we are now.

Never flashy, never got the headlines, but missed when he left - a true professional.

It says on the BBC that Gareth will become the first to make 600 Premier League starts.

Bryan Briggs must have been a substitute a hell of a lot of times.

Plenty left in the tank yet for Gaz Baz keep going son, doesn't get the credit he deserves at time from the so called experts.

Congrats Gareth Barry on your record Premiership appearances, great player for City
