OP, as well as being a respected lord of the realm, and widely noted for sobriety, I’m also a canine psychologist.
Don’t be a cnut by inflicting establishment mores on the poor mutt. He’ll feel pigeon-holed and, as a consequence, disenfranchised or even disaffected. This could stunt his cognitive development.
Instead, show him a sky blue and white scarf and inculcate him with the Kippax philosophy: “I’m Man City and I piss where I like.”
