Barker really has a fantastic first touch, loving the free role he's got in this match.

Chelsea and City looking like the future of England, bet they'll be a few journalists on suicide watch.

Barker looks class, love the way he picks up pockets of space and turns and gets at defenders instantly. His style reminds me of Ribery.

When I look at these players, most of them don't look inferior much, if at all, to similar aged kids from Spain, Germany, Portugal. The crucial difference seems to be a lack of opportunities, which can stunt the development process. The reserve league is limited while loan deals are very hit and miss. The B team proposal could have been ideal but everyone hated it except City and a few others.

Imagine how good players like Barker could be when 22 or 23 if they continue to develop. Key word being "IF" considering how the late teens to early 20s period seems like a developmental graveyard for so many English kids.
