Seems like NEWSUSTANCE they did loads of work in the UAE , by the looks of its a fancy walkwalk from Holt Town to the Etihad Campus.

This is not transport stragety that is needed , all this is needed is a mass transit link that will help clear out alot of people for the area.

At the moment this is needed urgently as there is no hotel etc at the site

Should this not be part of the funding for the staduims as be part of Euro 28 that a station should be built and in operation by then

The CityLink Walking Route from Holt End to Etihad Campus connects Co-op Live with communities, creating shared moments of wonder and joy as families and friends explore the technicolor path to and from the venue. Installations reflect the values of the arena: a trail for the planet, for the people for everyone - committed to sustainability and community. From gig audiences to footie fans, the trail is packed full of destination experiences and Instagrammable icons that will extend the fan experience as part of a great day and night out in Manchester. Audiences will stop, pause, and play; enjoying the lights and sounds of the CityLink Walking Route. From sunset to nightfall, installations will illuminate the way to and from Co-op Live; whilst soundwaves will fill the air from the chatter of visitors to the chants of fans. At one with the sounds of nature, this hive of activity is a color canvas on which to spotlight great local talent. This Design and Access Statement has been prepared on behalf of NEWSUBSTANCE for the installation of eleven ‘installations’ that make up the activation of the CityLink Walking Route from Holt End to Etihad Campus, to be located along the ‘CityLink’ footpath which runs alongside the MetroLink tracks between the junction of Frost Street and Merrill Street, and the Etihad Campus.

The key alteration made by Co-op Live is a curtailing of its opening hours. Events in the main auditorium bowl will finish by 11.30pm, with it being completely closed by midnight.

Ancillary space activities will be allowed to go on after a bowl event, or on a non-bowl event day with a reduced capacity, the arena says. These spaces will be used until 1am midweek, and until 2am on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays before a Bank Holiday — with them being completely closed in every case half an hour later.

It"s gonna be intresting how they smarten joe mercer way...recent renditions on here smoothed it all over very lovely...in reality even the steps down to the canal are starting to flake and will be looking poorly in another couple of winters.

If anyone wants to read it? Won’t post it in this thread. Post 27,908.

Trafford Council, Peel Holdings and the Rags working together on a Masterplan covering 215 acres, including Old Trafford, which will be renamed the ‘Stadium District’, over 15 years. The Etihad Campus may eventually have a rival across town?

“Shared moments of wonder and joy”. This is an embarrassment for City. They can sell it all they want, they’ve been told to do one. No new rail network, despite existing infrastructure - confirmed by Andy Burnham (not that he needed to, has zero powers anyway). No improvements to the Met, which continue to operate a normal service even on a matchday. Instead, they’re lighting up the existing walkway to the ground

United on the other-hand have just had approval from Trafford Council to make dramatic changes to Old Trafford and the surrounding area. It already has 3 different Met lines running past the ground, a rail track and one of the main arteries (Chester Rd) supporting the area. Not to mention MediaCity and Salford Quays.

City needed more than a few jazzy street lamps.

Metrolink extended from East Didsbury to Stockport Transport Interchange would be helpful. Apparently that’s the next extension planned for Metrolink with funding being looked at now. It won’t make a huge difference, but it would be popular with City fans from Stockport on a match day.

Greater Manchester Mayor, Andy Burnham, has revealed that an update on plans to extend the Metrolink tram network into Stockport could be expected before the end of the year.

I’ve heard mention on here of office space and sports science etc for collar site and surrounding. Seems to me with such bad transport links to the campus the best thing we could build is lots of nice apartments for city’s fans to buy, rent or use as air bnb. Much less stress getting to the Etihad if a few thousand more blues live facing it?

Like a lot of City fans I’ve followed City across Europe and the public transport on match days in European cities is no different to ours. Public transport is over crowded when going to and leaving football grounds. Istanbul on the Metro and trains was a prime example of that. As for the buses and coaches, forget it. I do have to admit the public match day transport in Germany is superb and it’s on another level.
