Surely not, as I think that most City fans believe that the media, and the world no doubt, are against us! But this is one of the funniest articles I have ever seen. How pathetic can you get?

In all honesty I could not make it to the end as it started to be repetitive, but it will definitly put our conspiracy theorist to a test to equal his level of 'crazy.'

I imagine his real anger is reflected in the fact that we loaned his club Jo. :)

Oh, and I know the media are out to get us!!!!!

Moyes-Doctrine: Manchester City declared war on Everton - attempting to divide and conquer
By Mark Reid on Aug 13, 09 09:00 PM in Fans

Manchester City, emboldened by a large oil derived transfer kitty this summer began trying to throw it's (fly) weight around in the transfer market. Using a biased media, particularly those in the Murdoch empire - the usual "big club" slogans then began to be applied on a club who was in the third tier of English football in the last decade, not due to the numbers of supporters it has but by the numbers of zeros it may put on the end of a cheque.

That doesn't make a big club. Its the supporters and the quality of the managers that make big clubs. Mistake number 1 for the Arabs at Manchester City's new regime.

Everton FC, attempted to go about its business quietly - missing out on Kyle Naughton due to shady dealings then going underground as a consequence to stop Everton's competitors immediately jumping on any potential transfer David Moyes was linked to.

Manchester City, failing to land John Terry from Chelsea then put Everton FC in the cross hairs, and began a salvo of increasing fire through the media. Like a rolling advance, the Murdoch tanks began rolling with headlines of how Manchester City were going to double Joleon Lescott's wages. Wages that were apparently public knowledge. Who released the information? Lescott's agents? Who was in contact with who and when? As it seems that any player now in the England national team, is just ripe for "tapping up", its now the "in crowd" the national team. Players only keen on how many more zeros they can put on their pay cheque, thanks to national exposure.
Gareth Barry (That other Manchester City mercenary - mistakes in the England shirt highlighted this more than ever. Poor Bobby Robson would be ashamed).

Manchester City's assault continued, with daily tabloid back pages insisting Lescott would be an Manchester City player as they attempted to intimidate through the media the Mersey Blues.

Whilst Moyes was away in the USA with his team on preseason, Manchester City pressed home their assault. Hourly headlines on Sky Sports News were insisting that Lescott would be theirs and that that was inevitable. Throughout Lescott remained silent, some thought Everton's rearguard at Goodison were the cause - keeping quite and ones own council is often the wisest path.

On returning to find the carnage at home, Moyes in true Scottish style levelled his own barrage at Manchester City's now morally defunct manager - for being disrespectful and lacking class. The sentiment and its timing could not have been more emotive given the death of the unforgettable Bobby Robson, who epitomised those qualities in abundance.

Moyes continued his barrage back, despite the underlying bias in the Murdoch empire for anyone with a big pay cheque. This halted Manchester City's advance for a time. In all this the FA and Premier League, meant to keep the peace did nothing and did not intervene.

Manchester City pressed home again, with more statements and media headlines, admitting that they were going around Moyes if they could, waving their token weapon to mask their weaknesses - money can't buy them class.

On August 10th, Joleon Lescott turned his back on the supporters in a fashion that Brutus in the Ides of March would have been proud of. He submitted a written transfer request. The club and supporters who had taken him from the Championship with a serious knee injury then had dirt kicked in their face.

Moyes immediately rejected it out of hand. The Everton FC line held.

Manchester City continues to probe. Attempting to undermine David Moyes publicly.

The quotes of Mark Hughes the puppet at Manchester City today say it all.
"We have made offers and shown interest, obviously that is seen by virtue of the bids we have put in.

"But they have been rejected and Everton are fully in their rights to do that, we respect that.

"We are still trying to speak to the people who will ultimately make the decision over whether or not the deal continues.

"Those conversations are still to take place but how long they will still be active is open to debate."

Manchester City have attempted to contact the Everton FC board, to go around David Moyes, to split the club and to divide and conquer Everton FC.

Everton FC have a strong manager. David Moyes in charge for 7 years and worked miracles - is firmly in charge. Most of the board would be out already if Moyes were not pre-eminent in his performance, competence, intelligence, class and dignity.

Manchester City continue to try and split Evertonians. To turn Toffee against Toffee. Blue against blue. Board member against the manager - who in the words of Bill Kenwright - "is in charge of team affairs". They forget. Toffees stick together.

The Everton Board know, Moyes has performed. His track record speaks for itself. To interfere in the judgement of the man would be their biggest, and certainly fatal mistake.

If Moyes says - Lescott's going for £30million not a penny less. Then that is Everton policy. It cannot be bent or moved unless Moyes says so. To sell Lescott out from under Moyes would cause complete uproar from Shareholders to ordinary supporters. We pay Moyes over £4 million a year - and he's worth every penny. To interfere is to waste that money.

When Moyes decides to show Lescott the door - WHEN MOYES DECIDES - he'll be out. Disloyalty is never rewarded.

Manchester City's attacks have been repulsed. Their attempts at division repelled. When Everton face Manchester City this season is when things will be decided.
The question is: Why haven't the FA or The Premier League done anything about what has gone on? They've sat on their hands whilst Manchester City have done as they've pleased. All in all a disgraceful set of affairs - and a stain on English football. Moyes says: NOT FOR SALE. And still it continues, because some parties are more equal than others.

We'll see if money can buy class or dignity. Because Everton under Moyes have it in abundance, and with our kids like Rodwell and Gosling coming through - its only going to get stronger. When Manchester City is a distant forgotten memory, Everton under Moyes will be fighting as always. Everywhere.

utter rubbish. i have seen nothing to show that city have at all been underhanded in any way in regards to bidding for lescott. it all sounds like fantasy on their part.

And i thought some of mine may have been interpreted as far fetched...

You know what the funny thing is? We have a bigger fanbase and get bigger crowds.

evertons way to become the team everyone feels sorry for and to use the increasing media interest against us

we learnt from the kaka deal how to approach teams about their players and now its the selling teams running to the press for support and back-up

Constantly at it about conspiracies. My in laws are 'supporters' and everything from Collina in the Champions League, Dirk Kuyt not being sent off (although it was rash) and the latest Hughes is out of order.

I had to remind them that it was Everton who leaked to the press that we had bid for Lescott and that Hughes hadn't mentioned any names of players we were bidding for. Reminding them again that are policy was professional and by the book.

They then replied with 'Garry Cooke was an idiot!'

Now these 3 (father and 2 sons) are successful bussiness men and I respect them for what they've done but come on, you've got to upset a few apple carts surely?
