Being an avid Mexican national team fan, it has always amazed me the lack of playing time he is seeing at spurs. A superb talent in my eyes, really helped carry Mexico in our gold cup win and when we were struggling in qualifying. The game Mex really had to win to solidify their campaign was away at costa rica. Great game by him. Check out the highlights. One goal, 2 assists.

p.s. A little Guillermo franco sighting from West ham in that vid as well.

On the topic of me being a Mexico fan, City first appeared on my radar when you guys signed Nery Castillo. He was an absolute dynamo in Copa America 07, scoring tons of goals and a real beauty against brazil. I didn't have access to watching the premier league back then, so I would just follow on ESPN soccernet and see he never got much play. Anyone have any insight on what happened when he was here? He has really never recaptured the form from 07. Even though Mexican coach Aguirre has tried to give him opportunities. I think he is in Ukraine now.

He only played a couple of games mate, mostly as a substitute, he looked reasonably lively but got an injury soon after we signed him on loan and started playing. Poor lad broke his shoulder on his debut if I remember correctly. He didn't ever score for us, a shame really because I know he had a good reputation in Mexico. I wanted to give him another chance but obviously Sven left and Hughes came in and he didn't feature at all. He's on loan at some team in Ukraine now that I won't even attempt to spell lol.

Spurs have mucked up his career because 'Arry don't like him.
Like what's happened to Pavlyuchenko and Bentley.

I saw yesterday his brother, Jonathan on the Barcelona match. I think Giovanni is much more better. But Barca has Ibra, Henry, Messi, Bojan, Pedro, Keirisson (on loan)... so they didn't need Gio. I feel that Bojan has to leave Barca next summer, if Henry will stay, ot they will buy a new striker.

Bought by Ramos and the "sporting director" whoever he was for Spuds. 'Arry came in, didn't rate him at all and sent him on loan to Ipswich. Heard he's had some injury problems too and rumours of taking a nice liking to the London nightlife. Not going to be getting much playing time if he is fit anyway, Spurs have a lot of options ahead of him so if he's fit he might get a loan this month again. Expect him to be sold off by 'Arry in the summer.

Use your heads guys.
its a good thing sven didnt get him. obviously a gifted player to be breaking into the barca team, then all of a sudden they want to cash in on him. Barca obviously knew something about him that they didnt like - rumours at spurs say he took too much of a liking to the high life.

all these people - Ramos, ipswich, they thought they were getting a good deal. obviously not if the club prior are so willing to let go.

What's happened to him then? Went to Spuds a promising young player and seems to have disappeared. Anyone know what might have happened to him?

lol when he first came onto the scene at barca they were saying hes the new ronaldhinio

Have you guys watched him play for Mexico? A dynamic playmaker, unselfish, and a quality finisher as well. I know you guys probably don't rate Mexican soccer but I would love to have him at city.
