Has the premier league burst its own bubble ?

Great post.

The bit about 2000's is bang on.

Lots of clubs with new stadiums, better facilities etc. Yet the pl still hang onto to old clubs dippers and rags. With shitty stadiums, poor facilities, stuck in the passed. These two shit statiums havent even got big screens, just bigger versions of Luton ground.

The pl doesn't deserve all these new stadiums and facilities. But bizarrely these clubs keep voting for rule changes that are designed to screw them and keep the old dinosaur clubs in control.
It is bizarre isn't it.

It confuses me why certain clubs would side with the new implementations that the Red Cartel introduce which are designed, not just to stop City, but to keep them forever below the cartel.

Yes, everyone would love the fairy story; local lads playing for the local team, and all have the supreme talents of Maradona, Pele, Eusebio, Beckenbauer and Phil Jones. A team that is capable of winning the lot, all on £10,000 a week per player. Tickets cost £5, Season Tickets at a reasonable £50, in a traditional brick built, square-style stadium, Roy of the Rovers style.

But it's not the 70's, the game has moved on and is ludicrously expensive and clubs require a wealthy investor just to compete let alone challenge for top honours. The Red Cartel are already in their own group of special circumstances, having a constant revenue stream of 100+ million gullible, moronic sheep supporters that they can rely on, but as the game gets more expensive, those numbers mean nothing as the worldwide cost of living hits hard.

If they side with clubs like Manchester City, Newcastle, Chelsea, etc, then everyone benefits, everyone gains the opportunity to progress and have their supporters see their team lift a trophy, and I welcome that competition. Side with the 'traditional' Red Cartel and only 3 clubs benefit.

We will find out at the next premier meeting what they decide! What's reported is they going down the uefa rules a % of turnover on the annual wage bill
They have to fall in line with UEFA as there will possibly be up to 8 teams in the various competitions, they all have to adhere to UEFA’s rules, no choice, it’s a clusterfuck, driven by the agenda of the Hateful 8 in England and the jealousy of Clubs from Italy and Spain.

So why not just adopt UEFA ffp ?

You can fail UEFA ffp but pass the pl ffp see rags !

Break uefa rules it's a fine psg have broken ffp 3 times and no ban just fine for over spending in the tens of millions!

It’s just business.

It's just a business that stops fair trade and investment. Can you imagine Tesco being allowed to tell Aldi how much they can invest, so they cant beat Tesco. That's how the pl is

That would be seen as unfair trading and running a cartel

The people voting are the current owners though. They may not want or be able to afford to invest. They're also selfishly but understandably not really going to look out for the long term view of 'what if we sell to a billionaire' in 5 years time. It's all about today while they are in charge

Arguably no need for PL FFP/PSR then? The top clubs will need to comply with UEFA FFP and the 'smaller' clubs can invest without restriction

Football is now the only business that limits outside investment. Its administrators are so blinkered they don’t even see the fifth column they have allowed into the premiership let alone think about the inevitable consequences of their protectionism of United, Liverpool & Arsenal. I refuse to include Spurs on footballing meritocracy as their double was 63 seasons ago!
A break away whether it is called a ESL or WSL will happen and the only 2 questions are when & who joins it.
There will some red faces across some supporters & most of media when it happens

It’s essentially what they’re doing, decreasing spending on wages, transfer fees and operating costs, 90% this season, 80% next and 70% from 25/26 season on.

Agreed on before we announced record revenues, top of the income table on accounts from last year and second only to Real this year. They really underestimated our turnover which was 705m, as an example Newcastle reported 250m in their latest accounts, they’re the victims all the hateful bastards were hoping we’d be, but thankfully we’re one step ahead, let’s see what shite they come up with next.

If the Hateful 8 and UEFA want truly competitive competitions they’d allow every club to invest as much money as they want up to the value of the highest grossing revenue in each competition. So as an example, in the Premier League our turnover is 705m, even the team which finishes 4th bottom this season can top up the money from any investor. Won’t happen though which, ironically is brilliant for us.
