He's negotiated (using us and Barca) to become one of the highest paid players there at just 21 according to the media. £100,000 at minimum a week for a full back that we and definitely Barca wouldn't have paid. Just because he's already there doesn't make him any less of a mercenary (a favourite term of Arse fans).

If someone offered more he'd be off the same as any other player.

Oh come off it. You don't think City and Barca would have offered him similar money? Sometimes a player is settled at a club and doesn't want to move.
