This is why I maintain that the best Mahrez replacement, at least for now, is Foden. It’s not ideal - we’d have loved to see Phil central more often this year but if the available wingers are Olise, Doku and maybe Raphinha, then the right call is to sign none of them. Let Foden and Bernardo rotate there and buy a midfielder where, hopefully, there are better options on the market. Then with a bit of luck, there’ll be a standout target that emerges/develops over the season for RW which we can go for in 1 year.
