Let's give 'em a minute, I kind of wanted to watch and see how it all shook out.

Just because we're not desperate for the money doesn't mean we should let them take the piss. It's better in our bank account earning interest than in theirs.
If the fee is £15M, just using a standard interest rate of 4% that is £600K per year interest we are losing. Over 4 years that's £2.4M.

You are technically correct that there is a time value of money factor, but your calculation is incorrect. Firstly, there is no developed market where you can earn 4% in a savings account. You're doing well if you earn 2%. Secondly, if they are paying in installments, then the 15m is not outstanding for 4 years. Averaging over the 4 years, outstanding amount is 7.5m/year. So 7.5m at a 2% is $600k. 1/4 of what you stated.

Still with us then Jovetic .
Still need to off load before we buy .
I'm surprised few more clubs aren't in for him .
A move to Germany might be better for Jovetic than Italy .
Seem to have more money German clubs than Italian .

Just a thought, as he is heavily linked with Schalke, but would it be so crazy as to swap Jovetic for Shaqiri and move Navas on instead?
We'd be getting a much younger player than Navas and equally as good, if not better.
The problem is, would he be happy to be a squad player here, or first team player at Schalke?

Possibly leaving Inter on a full basis after just half a season, Swiss international offensive midfielder and winger Xherdan Shaqiri (23), after having refused to join Stoke City after English club reached an agreement with Neroazzurri, is now waiting for an offer coming from Schalke 04. Meanwhile, former FC Basel star might be used as a counterpart and join Manchester City in the trade involving Stevan Jovetic. Inter paid Bayern Munich 16 million euros for his ownership last winter, and are aiming to cash at least the same sum: otherwise, Shaqiri in the end might stay put.
