Lost Prophets.

Was anyone on here a fan of them? I had never heard of them before this came out, but I'm a huge fan of eminem, and if this had happened to him, it would seriously fuck with my head.

Suppose what I'm trying to say is if you were a fan of them before this, are you still a fan, does him being who he is now change the quality of the music?

I probably wouldn't have called myself a fan.

However, I tend to associate a lot of their music with my teenage years. I was into alternative/heavy music when I was younger, and more often than not, if you chatted to a girl who was "alternative" their favourite band would be Lost Prophets.

I joined a new school in September 2001 at the age of 13 (almost 14), and my memories of the first few weeks tend to be 9/11 (obviously!) and the music of that time was "Shinobi vs Dragon Ninja" by Lost Prophets.

When they released their second album it was the year of my GCSE's, and a lot of their singles remind me of being 16. "Burn, Burn", "Last Train Home", "Last Summer". They were all over channels like Scuzz and Kerrang.

And even more recently, just after I finished uni in 2009, I remember hearing on the radio a lot "It's not the end of the world".

I'm one for liking a good bit of nostalgia, but I guess I'll have to dig out my System of a Down albums out, as I can't imagine hearing Watkins sing again.

by the sounds of it im a year younger than you and I joined my secondary school in 2002... I agree with the timing of their songs etc they was a fantastic band everyday combat was my favourite chune they did, but as you say I don't think I could listen to them again and not feel abit disgusted... SOAD on the other hand O LORRRRRD love them but I was abit of a minority in school when it came to music... I loved every type of music including the likes of trivium, Slipknot, Cradle of filth bands like that... good some funny looks whilst on dinner from randomers but each to their own... luckily I wasn't attached to any of the groups like the mosh heads, goths, chavs etc otherwise I think my taste in a lot of things would have changed

I said this before he pleaded guilty but I was heavily involved with music about 10 years ago and we put a few Welsh bands on in Manchester. There were a few good ones breaking through but Lost Prophets were the most successful so naturally their name came in to conversations we had with the bands. Nobody really liked them but there was always a strong dislike for Ian Watkins in particular and nobody would elaborate. I just presumed he was an arrogant bastard or had shit on people to take a step up himself. I did see him out socially once and he oozed "****" in every way, shape and form.

That's incredible

This has been known about for some time but it's been swept under the carpet as expected.

What happened to that female soapstar who allegedly abused a boy in a toilet? They wouldn't name her for legal reasons.

Feel sorry for the Swansea midfielder because no doubt some idiots will think it's him instead of the politician.

The sick bastard is appealing against the decision to lock him up for so long.

The Lostprophets singer from Pontypridd was jailed for 29 years and will spend another six years on licence.

The Court of Appeal confirmed an application was lodged two days ago.

Watkins, 36, was sentenced last month alongside two women who are the mothers of the children he abused.

Known only as Woman A and Woman B, they were jailed for 14 and 17 years respectively.

Watkins admitted the attempted rape and sexual assault of a child under 13 but pleaded not guilty to rape.

I can't help thinking he's safer inside in solitary than out in public. He should be requesting more time away from the baying mob who're waiting to give him what he deserves at the first opportunity.
