Who can forget the two goals we conceded against QPR. Going back on topic it is down to the players to take responsibility. Manuel does have a good defensive organisation otherwise he would of not succeeded in his jobs at Villareal, Malaga or too a lesser extent at Real Madrid he didn't win any trophies but he did finish 3 points and 7 goals behind a Barcelona side in their prime[/quot

If you have a manager with a history of conceding plenty of goals then there will be more lean years than good.

Even championship teams roll up and put two past us for fucks sake.

Hes good at attacking and Shit at defending , you can't really argue with that.

We didn't look like defending champions in 2012-13 and we don't look like defending champions now.

It's well documented that the players had had enough of Mancini- despite that we still had the best defence

What's loveable Manuels excuse?

Pellers has sidelined the guys who don't complain much e.g. Micah, Lescott, Nasti, Negrado and Barry. He's a bit more path of least resistance than Bobby Who would "never pass an open door". Yes he dropped Hart but most managers would have!

The downside is the players left in the squad are more likely to be pissed off if they are dropped (possibly except Boyata and Caballero) so Manuel's motivational skills will be tested more and more. That said, a few wins in a row and Pellers is the business!

Not wishing to get in the middle of your little rant, but coaches who can't coach a team to defend properly don't win the PL, don't take unfancied sides like Villarreal and Malaga to the CL semi finals and have them punching far far above their weight in their domestic league.

I'm not saying we've defended well this season, just pointing out the silliness in trying to argue that someone with Pellegrini's record and pedigree can't actually set a team up to defend properly.

Except that he can't.

Again, you don't do the things Pellegrini has done if you can't set a team up to defend properly. You and one or two others mistake being a negative/pragmatic manager who plays safety first football whenever the opposition get a bit scary with being a good defensive coach. Allardicie or Pulis are the guys for you!

One thing is for certain is that we had a better defence 3 seasons ago with so called inferior defenders, there are no disguising the facts that we are poorer defensively under Pellegrini with an almost identical style of football with so called ball playing better defenders, great we banged in the goals last season but when teams work us out like they have done we look vulnerable when the goals dry up.Its all very one dimensional and dare i say it has become boring to watch.

Everytime a team gets near our penalty area we look all over the show, regardless of who the personnel are and its happened all season not just a few games.

Zabba and Vinnie are being asked to carry out this high intensity style of defending and they look burnt out, over footballed if you like, the football style is virtually identical but with a higher line of defending, we have problems there is no denying it.

Just seen him on Ssn and he was saying about Bony coming back saying he couldn't play anyway cos there is still some paperwork to sort out,wtf we signed him 4/5 weeks ago and the paperwork hasn't been finalised whats that all about

I saw a rumour on here the other day claiming UEFA had insisted on investigating his transfer due to FFP so it could possibly be that.

Zabaleta arguing with Kompany, Kompany looking like he has got the worlds biggest chip on his shoulder, Aguero throwing his arms into the air and complaining at poor passes. I have to be honest I'm slightly concerned that what we are seeing is more than just a little dip in form. It looks to me like our team of supersized egoes are confused or unhappy with the current tactics. Hope I'm wrong.

Thats what happens when players get a manager fired..

At least Mancini let everyone know there was only room for one ego and that was his..

Thats what de niro meant by decline..

Come on mate you know your onions, you have just said it yourself that our defence has been shit this season, he carries the can for that, the game is littered with managers who punch above there weight with unfancied teams, he won it last year down to scoring goals, this season we will lose our title through abysmal defending.

Last year is gone fella

does it sit comfortable with you if he is given a sizeable transfer budget? if he is then surely he will be given a new contract.

He won it last year down to scoring goals, with the second best defensive record in the league, he'll lose it this year by having a slightly worse defensive record, and a considerably worse scoring record.

The real reason we are struggling, especially over the last few weeks, is that we haven't a clue how to score goals, even when we make the chances we rarely score, and we're not making enough chances either. Its ironic, that we had "no strikers" for so long, and were winning, yet now we have 3 fit (apparently), and they can't buy a goal.
