There was one occasions where Liverpool pumped a ball over his head to Lallana (not renowned for his pace in particular) and he was scampering back to catch up as if he were running in quicksand.
It was like watching an old dog who's had his day try and play again.
Think he knows his pace has gone...Backed off Lallana allowing him to cross it in, when the Zab of old would of got tight and tried to take the ball, instead of worrying that he might get taken on.
Have we unearthed a dependable stand-by holding midfielder tonight? I don't remember him putting a foot wrong, albeit against a poor West Ham side. Not sure he's got the legs to play at RB anymore, but he was very good tonight.
