PFA Player of the Year Awards

Sané is a better player than Sterling, I agree. But Sané has effectively had half a season, which is why I thought it was odd he was included. Not that I'm complaining.

Agree about Silva. Unless he gets 15 goals a season the style-obsessed media will never notice him.

it's purely about the stats with these awards , maybe with the exception of Kante who job isn't to get goals , but has been brilliant for Chelsea

And couldn't get near David Silva last week so resorted to kicking him after 2o minutes

yes , silva is a different level obviously but doesn't take away from the fact that Kante has been a main factor in chelsea being top

Someone like Sane or Keane should win young player, honestly I think that award needs a reshape as Alli, Kane, Lukaku have all played 2 or more league seasons, established PL players etc, whereas Sane and Keane are breakthrough talents and that's what the award should be for

It amazes me how Silva has only been in the TOTY once, even more than Aguero being snubbed, most consistently brilliant player in that time, more assists than anyone else, most underrated player as well, and in my eyes one of our best ever players. He's been a mainstay in the best midfield in the world with countless competition (Spain) and I'm sure his talents would be more appreciated in La Liga than in the Premier League, but hey the PFA do hate us, Aguero should have had many nominations and Toure should have won the main award in our last title winning season, these players don't need a shitty nomination to prove their brilliance

Kanté is overrated. Let me explain why. He can only really do a very specific job, which is ballwinning. In this respect he's a lot like Idrissa Gueye- or Fernando, I suppose, but then I've never claimed Fernando is world-class. Ask him to make a splitting pass forward, or to finish a move, and more often than not he lets you down. He's fashionable at the moment but he will only work in a team where the manager asks him to do only one job, as shown by some of his earlier excursions into the France team. Fernandinho for the last few seasons will win you the ball with tackles (granted not as often), but he will also provide you with an equally high workrate, five or six goals, a few assists and a more complete passing range. Not to mention versatility. Can you imagine Kanté playing at full-back, centre-half, defensive midfield and right wing all in the same month? I couldn't. To be world-class means so much more than what he does.

Kanté is very good at what he does, which is to run around a lot and make a lot of tackles. He's perhaps the best in the world at that- against smaller teams at least. It gave me great pleasure and pride to watch our very own David Silva humiliate the "league's best midfielder" without so much as breaking a sweat last week.

Sané over Sterling is bizarre. Sanchez over Alli on the main shortlist is also a weird one. And Zlatan hasn't been that good considering he's played almost every minute.

Yer don't have to be 'good' - yer just need the scarlet shirt on yer back, and sharpened up elbows for players to head.

If Sane wins, I'll try and get the guy who sits next to me to eat my next match day programme.
