Political protests outside ground

Ah well what I did you see, and you and the OP might want to try it, is when I came to them I just walked past without engaging, just like I do when I come to the clowns selling half and half scarfs and the band playing by the East stand entrance. Wtc

I guess I might have underestimated the likelihood of extremists being attracted to the vicinity but I found the protesters to be unthreatening in themselves and didn’t seem to be forcing anyone to talk to them.
I just hurried past with the kids, my daughter asked what are those angry people doing? None of NF, BNP, IRA, Hamas, Israel or anyone for that matter should be causing political unrest at our ground. Can’t help but be concerned in this day in age, police need to move them on in future, pretty sure they wouldn’t allow an EDS march

The EDS should definitely stick to football.

If it was a pro Israel demo some of the comments on here would be a lot different.

Well they would and they do. The police in this country have to allow these rallies or protests or whatever and then manage them, walking a balance between maintaining law and order and facilitating the right to assembly and free speech. There are certain criteria that organisers have to abide by for them to be lawful though, cant remember what they are now, but so long as that notice is given then they can gather.

The campus around the Etihad is private property so City as a club could probably seek injunctions to prevent assembly but obviously havent.

Not from me. People can protest about what they want, where they want, as long as it’s peaceful and lawful.

You could start the counter protest over the road near the Maine Road Chippy.

Please don’t!
