Premier League (midweek) Games 2/3/4 April '24

In what regard?

Foden is my favourite player and is leading the Champions League in expected assists, yet Palmer's underlying creative numbers(goal/shot-creating actions) across all comps are all the better per 90. He's also averaging more tackles and intersections per 90, which is surprising, as I thought Foden's most significant improvement this season has come off the ball.
You can't compare tackling and interceptions, when Chelsea are constantly giving the ball away and City is dominating possession
At HT in that game this evening, the rags had 53% possession

This is the most important element that many that insist Palmer should have stayed don’t understand.

Chelsea play a different system and regularly face completely different tactics to those we face. Their opposition most often see them as vulnerable and so play aggressively, often targeting Palmer’s side, ironically, because he doesn’t like to track back, leading to a much more open game, which suits Palmer’s attacking talents (though, not his deficiencies). If there are more passes being played his way, he is going to have more interceptions. Same goes for
the attacking stats, as he is going to have more opportunity to attack individually in Chelsea’s setup.

To compare Foden and Palmer’s stats especially is just nonsensical.

Probably trying to get a rag move next.

Is he a good player? Yes
Did he produce the goods with city and how we play? Sometimes
Was he going to replace any of our starters who just won a treble? Nope
Did we expect he would be this good? Nope.

He don’t care just like many other players. Said he was a united fan, no point splitting hairs.
Agree with most of that. The raw ability was never in question. The sort of player that if you build a team around he’ll shine. Chelsea are that shit though watching them last night they play as if he’s Messi. Absolutely everything goes through him. There is not a chance we could or would have ever done that when we’ve got the likes of Foden and KDB.

Just to clear up the Palmer thing.
WE DIDN'T SELL HIM ON. HE ASKED TO LEAVE.
Is that clear enough for people?

Pep told him he would be getting more playing time after Mahrez left.
He himself decided he still wanted to go. The club didn't step in his way.
So we didn't make any mistake.

As Pep said, he doesn't keep players who don't want to be there.
It’s a moot point he couldn’t get in our team, Chelsea are building their team around him. Good move for all parties. No need to debate & in any case Oscar Bobb has more raw talent & potential.
Ironic thing from last night Palmer is a life long rag apparently & Scruff is a Chelsea fan

I've just read Ten Hag saying they dominated that game. Out of all the stats I can find, they only 'won' one of them - the foul count - 15. And not a single united player was booked.

Shocked face
Of course they dominated and were winning at 90 minutes so they should get at least a point.
And they've broken a new record: 99 minutes is the latest a team has been winning then gone on to lose.
Ten Bob is doing a good job and it's only opposing fans that think otherwise, Look how the media praise him on the few occasions they fluke a win; are we really saying football pundits and reporters are a bunch of lickspittle, know-nowt morons?
Dear Scruffy Jim and the Glazers, Ten Bob is doing a great job. Please give him a new contract.
From all at City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Villa, Spurs and the Comedy Channel.
