We were heading on to the Reeperbahn but thanks to Hamburgblue for that info.
Sounds like now we will be going where it is a bit cheaper.

Always good.
There was a post too about being careful with your money on there,
apparently a high rate of muggings.
So keep your wits, Blues!

A friend of mine who worked in Hamburg for a while has told me to watch out for the brass houses / strip clubs etc that have a line to cross near the entrance. He said that once you've crossed the line, which could be as subtle as a change in carpet, then you could be charged at the owners discretion. Anyone heard of this who's been to Hamburg before?

Just two thoughts...

Große Freiheit 29, Hamburg
(Reeperbahn / St. Pauli district)
Traditional german pub. The Beatles used to frequent that pub virtually every night during their sojourn in Hamburg in the early 60s.
1 min walk from Reeperbahn station. From Reeperbahn approx 10 mins by S-Bahn to the stadium (Stellingen/Arenen) - S3 to Pinneberg.

Maybe also interesting for some of you guys:

Not typical for us northerners but good fun guaranteed when you turn up in big numbers.
1 min walk from Dammtor station. From Dammtor you´ll need approx 10 mins by S-Bahn to the stadium (Stellingen/Arenen) - S21 to Elbgaustraße.

That´s bollocks!

Or with the square being rammed you could buy your beer from the offie on the square and still soak up the atmosphere

In gelshenkirken before the game we were paying E5 a pint, then wandered down a couple of backstreets and found big bottles of lager in an Offy for 80 cents. Bought the shop owners personal opener off him and dug in. Stood in the street anyway and saved a rake of money
