I wonder if Micah is regretting not signing the deal offered to him at the end of last season? You'd have thought it was now off the table given the Sagna signing and perhaps the offers for Micah haven't been in line with his expectations.

Micah had another offer (from another club) last year but blew it by overplaying his hand and being greedy. He's in a position where his next move is critical - he needs to rebuild his career and he is going to need to take a step back and possibly take a pay cut to move forward. He has the option of running his contract down with us and whilst that might be financially attractive to him in the short term - he's on decent money - but another year in the wilderness would be career suicide.

It would take a massive injury crisis for him to even feature as a sub next season

Bet Oldham are feeling a bit miffed over Richards.

This ^^^^ looking like we might be better releasing him on a free to save his wages than hold out for a fee that doesn't at the moment look like it's going to happen. Even on a free he may need to take a pay cut and Oldham get nothing.

It's a shame because he could have become a great player, now he's getting older and I can see clubs leaving it late in the window to snap him up for a couple of million or even on a loan. He won't back down over his wage demands, so City will end up paying most of his wages for the season until his contract is up. Greed has finished him as a City player.

If I remember correctly, i'm sure we have already bought out that sell on clause with Oldham.

I think he will end up being loaned out for a fee to a club with a right to buy. Similar to what happened with Barry last season.

I think that club could be either Newcastle, Villa or Stoke

I can only go on what is written in wikipedia where it says that City repeatedly tried to buy out his 20% sell-on clause, but Oldham refused the offer.

The joke is on them then. Wish they could see their own smug faces now

Yeh, we offered Oooldham £2m when it was rumoured that Arsenal & The Rags were looking at him for the same kind of money that The Chavs got SWP for. I suppose it was a stick or twist situation for them and they took the gamble.

Such is life.
