Saw him and the Diddymen in Panto when I was about 3, think it was at The Opera House.
It was I think my first trip to a show and it was beyond thrilling.
Never into him myself but he was undeniably a consummate entertainer and top guy. One of the few who didn’t sell out.
i used to work with a lad from Liverpool,he was in a chippy and ken Dodd came in ,he was wearing his PJs and had one of those horses heads on a broom handle, came into the chippy riding the "horse",then rode out of the chippy, the lad I used to work with swears that was true
