If Countinho is going to Barca in January they will need funds. The only downside for us signing Umtiti is he will be ineligible for the Champions League.

No doubt we’ve put the feelers out to his agent but the fact this in the press means it’s been leaked to push Barca for a new deal. Which he’ll get.
 
I’d assume the fact he’s left footed is what makes him so attractive to us.

As it’s a buyout clause the ball is firmly in Umtiti’s corner, we’ve obviously told him we are happy to pay the £50mil, we will offer higher wages than Barca, now we see whether he fancies playing for Pep or staying with Barca - hopefully we’ve had indication from his agent.
