Have a Stoke fan in the office next to me and I think in his time he used to be able to handle himself but he says he is past all that now. He said he saw about 50 MIB pile out of a couple of stretch limos and a few minibuses about two mnutes before the game walk into an empty pub and then claim a result! He also said that after the game there was a lot of trouble and Stoke slapped the MIB although of course they have never been done. What is interesting is that both times Stoke came to Manchester big groups of them were sent home by the police!

Bryan Shaw, chairman of Stoke City Supporters' Club, said he was not surprised to hear of the trouble.

He said: "I saw a couple of skirmishes on the way to the ground but they were dealt with by police.

"It would be nice if United coughed up and paid for the damage, but I doubt they will.

"If Stoke did this kind of thing at Old Trafford and ripped up 100 seats we would be highlighted as being the biggest thugs in the country, but just like their football team, United fans get away with everything."
