I wasn't saying I agree with it. The point is it won't be changing until / unless we drop off markedly and then the club would have to ease off on pricing. Supporters like me, over 65 paying £16 a game with my SS3 SC, and other 'legacy' dinosaurs don't cut the revenue mustard.

That could be another 2 years away if Pep goes at the end of his current contract? If Pep extends his contract again, it could be longer? The elephant in the room is the North stand expansion. That could create further expensive tickets or cheaper tickets depending on Pep and sustained demand for match day tickets from new City fans.

We just seem to have the strangest ticket selling policy in the country.

There are games that are showing as sold out for months on end on the website and then suddenly hundreds if not thousands appear not long before the game. And they can’t get rid.

By that time, people have made other plans.

And not everyone is that committed that they’re checking constantly. They may well look once, see it’s sold out and understandably presume it’s like sold out and forget about it.

Cheapest adult season ticket at Spurs next season is £865. The following year the over 65 discount will be scrapped for any newly FOC supporters whilst existing FOCs will see their discount reduced to 25% over time until they all stop going / die.

Unfortunately, even more than when clubs could be run by local businessmen owning a few TV rental shops and so on, football is a business first and foremost. Can't afford it? Tough shit, there's plenty who can. Are we really any worse as a club than the others? I'd say probably not.

IMO that shouldn’t automatically be the case.

City could/should be a point of difference.

We should be the real ‘community club’ with a policy commitment of providing the best value /lowest cost season tickets/matchday tickets (excluding corporate) in English football.

This would still enable flexibility and a degree of dynamic pricing, but would always be best value/lowest cost for the fixture.

Over a short period of time ALL games would be sold out, all categories of fans, young ,old,local,tourists etc, would be catered for, demand would increase thus increasing the size of our ‘fan Parc’, and long term goodwill and positive PR would be generated.

I’m really perplexed that top officials at the club pronounce on the ‘community club’ stage but don’t capture the opportunity to deploy and develop it.

FFP isn’t the reason City are charging £30 for an under 18’s ticket against Newcastle. Because if it is, as a minimum, City are losing £100,000 in ticket, food, drink, and merchandise sales with the unsold tickets.(Johnny Ball, think of a number)

City’s recent record revenue was £713mill. The profit was 80mill. With figures like that the club could have easily priced the tickets accordingly for the QF of the FA Cup, especially for the under 18’s/kids.

However, unlike Premier League games, there is no cap on ticket prices and thus Newcastle fans will be forced to pay more than £30 for a ticket with prices for a regular adult ticket beginning at £35 in Level 3. Supporters wanting a ticket in Level 2 will have to pay £37.50. Senior & Young Person tickets are £2.50 cheaper in each level whilst Under-18’s are priced at £27.50 (Level 2) and £17.50 (Level 3).
