Manchester City FC is sad to announce that the club’s Life President Sidney Rose has passed away.
Sidney had been a dedicated supporter of City since the 1920s and during the mid-1960s, he was asked to join the board, becoming the director responsible for the welfare of the players.
He remained on the board for over 25 years, experiencing during that time the most successful era Manchester City had ever enjoyed.
Through his career Sidney remained a doctor and specialist at the top of his profession, frequently lecturing all over the world.
Sydney was granted the prestigious position of Life Vice President of the club after leaving the board, and still attended games at the Etihad Stadium when he could, despite living part time in Cape Town.
The Club would like to pass their condolences on to Sidney’s family at this difficult time.
