squad weaker than last season ?

Delph is better than 36 year old Lampard.

Sterling will be better than Milner and he's exactly what we needed.

Denayer is miles better than Boyata.

Lopes/Iheanacho could take up the small slack from Jovetic leaving.

Bony essentially replaced Dzeko, seeing as we barely saw him last season and we have switched to a 1 striker system. In his Swansea form he's much better than Dzeko was last season.

At the moment the squad has improved.

out..

Milner Lampard Jovetic, Dzeko Boyata

In..

Sterling Delph

If this stays the same surely our squad will be weaker than last season ?

As all but two players under achieved last season, it will just take the current squad to play at their best and we will be far stronger and will smash the league.

No, apart from Milner it's just dead wood leaving. Milner was a workhorse and decent squad player where as sterling is a game changer and Delph can develop into a mindfield lynchpin (the new Gareth Barry). There is also a lot of youth players closer to the first team. Overall a better size, balance and shape to the squad with room to manoeuvre in the transfer window.

This made me laugh.
'Nacho will more than make up for it, especially if you can use a triple word score square.
I was thinking we should perhaps sign that Greek player Papastathopoulos, but too many low-scoring vowels :(
