State Pension Increases

Ye the personal allowance went up around £300 a year, it’s been frozen by 2028 for 6 years so that’s £1800 less than it should be giving an allowance of roughly £14500, so as soon as these rises in state pension keep kicking in then the tax collecting will go through the roof as more and more will pay on it. Be interesting to see if Labour do anything about it.

But we need to cut taxes for high rate payers and stamp duty on property - Sunak thinks thats a winner.

BTW I am on a modest pension @£15K PA gross and i am liable for tax. Not in receipt of my state pension for some years to come which will just make me pay more tax. I am so happy Mrs Sunak had non-dom status which i am sure she will revert to if she can asap.

The money saved by cancelling HS2 to Manchester could be used to return people's pensionable age to 65 for men and 63 for women.
The grey vote is a big factor in which party gets elected to govern.

I agree State pension should be tax exempt and not contribute against prsonal allowance
Dont know about that, think there are better ways to spend the money. I agree however that the tax free allowance for everyone, including those working, should be a level such that the value of the full state pension is tax exempt.
