The anti road cycling thread

You seem very sensitive to people criticising car drivers.

"The safe and opportune moment can come earlier" Maybe in the drivers mind, but not in the cyclists whose safety is paramount, hence why they didn't/don't "stay left".

Sure sure they don' t ride abreast so they can chat, sure sure they're always judging the road conditions so they can let other vehicles pass like it says in the highway code, sure sure they always have mirrors or are looking over their shoulders and are aware of what's behind them, sure sure you are not biased on this for some reason.

Sensitive to people criticising car users? I literally have done so in this thread while we have been posting pmsl I even called them fuck nuts a couple of minutes ago.

Put the spade away you are embarrassing yourself now. Your normally quite even handed.

Maybe lycra has chafed your bollocks and your in a bad mood.

The closer a cyclist is to the kerb the more it encourages a poor driver to make a dangerously unsafe overtake. This is where a lot of inexperienced cyclists come unstuck. A driver isn't going to swerve into an oncoming vehicle if they screw up their overtake.

Taking prime position at pinch points and junctions discourages poor overtakes and makes you more visible to motorists joining the carriageway.

Hence why I said not kerb hugging, also I never stated anything about junctions or pinch points. You can file everything under common sense. And sitting in a car seat or on a bike seat doesn't automatically give you either.

Some bike riders like to socialise and ride for their own benefit, some car drivers don't like being held up. There really isn't the need to pick a side.

As a cyclist they are in more danger of harm if they or someone else fucks up. For that reason I was always presuming everyone was out to get me whether on my bike or motorbike.

If people used their noggins things would be much better, but they won't.

Anyhow balance appears to be a minority style if posting on here so am opting out.

Plus I'm about to put death race 2000 on:-)

We have 3 cyclists at work, get right dressed up for it too, also fat fucks, not a good combo. Part of a club that wear the same jersey.

Always wondered why they are still so fat considering they put all that effort in to get to work, and bike about at weekends in a convoy, whilst I'm still relatively in shape and drive in everyday.

Wow that was some reaction ;)

I cycle between the clock changes, no chance in the winter months, I'm comfy walking or in my car.

Biggest problem with being a part-timer is it takes me weeks to get my arse 'cycle fit' and that's not helped by potholes everywhere.
