United U18's v City U18's (a win will give us the Northern League title)

Finished 1-1. Great performance by City, if they had a more clinical forward it could have been a cricket score. They'll still win the league, just a shame they didn't do it in United's back garden!
 
Poor finishing in the end cost us, should be enough to win the title, pretty disappointing not to get the 3 points, we battered them.

Don't know why there were no subs used before 88mins though, United looked much better after getting Fresh legs on.

Performance over result as they say.
 
The thing missing from that match was the completely unwarrented, from nowhere, rag penalty. Otherwise normal service.

The passing City produced until they got a bit tired late on, was imo smarter than that seen at first team level. But it was the same in the game two years ago, when the rags couldn't get out of their own half then either.

The closer the kids get to the first team, the less clever the passing gets imo.

According to the commentator (Albiston?) it was a 'moral' victory getting a draw out of the game. And no, I have no idea what he was talking about either. Listening to him you wouldn't think that English was his first language.

Good performance of the lads and well done on winning the Northern title (presuming Everton haven't won by 9 or more :) ).
