UK: muffins - a doughy kind of bread suitable for inserting chips.
US: muffins - spongy buns.

Correct. They've only got the bits we had no use for.UK has culture. US doesn’t.
Many people here don’t value putting the time in to buy quality groceries and cook them. They’ll come up with every reason under the sun as to why they are “too busy.” Moreover, they lack self control. And if you tell them that the key to good health is to eat properly and get some exercise they’ll look at you with dispair like you’ve asked them to work physics problems. I don’t buy that we necessarily exported this to the rest of the world though.I'll concede that the 4-way stop is a good idea, but the cheap and nasty fast food culture that America had exported round the world has contributed to a Worlwide obesity crisis. The fact that you can buy double yor recommended daily intake of calories (in fat and sugar) for less than $8.00 is scary.
