VAR (PL introduction 2019)

couldn't give a fuck if it helped city. Its wank

Sorry but that's complete horse shit. Champions League final against United, winning 2-1 and they score, ref gives it, VAR overrules it. City win CL. Not a City fan on the planet would complain.

It needs fine tuning for sure, but it's literally only been used in about 6 games in English football. Fans need to give it a shot but the FA need to iron out the flaws in it. Takes far too long, ref doesn't need to watch it if his ref mate has already seen the issue. Speed it up and give fans some interaction on the screens.

VAR over rules nothing and that's the issue here.

All its doing is asking the ref to have another look and if he doesn't want to change his decision he won't.

I will go on record right now and say certain clubs will benefit hugely from this tech whilst others get fucked over.

Also how can it be fair for clubs in the same competition not to have the same tech in place for every game in that comp?

Well flip the scenarion: City score the winning goal in a CL final. The crowd goes insane, oh no wait...United are challenging. VAR

2 minutes

yeah it's a goal. City fans denied that feelgood feeling of the goal scoring celebration whilst officials deliberate on the basis of someone wanting to 'ruin' the moment.

It's not the advent of the VAR being questioned, it's the idea that EVERY decision, even ones that are slight, are being challenged, usually an an advantage tactic. There needs to be some consistancy about when and where VAR is called for a decision and at the moment, there doesn't seem to be.

United and Liverpool fans, and players are licking their lips after what's happened so far

Yep, bet there will be no VAR on every corner with Smalling pulling players shirts. Same old refs on VAR will still only see what they want to see
