'We're not really here' (Sky Sports)

And this is the fundamental difference between us and them... We look back on this period of our history with as much pride and fondness as we do the successful years of past and present.

Where as they airbrush out of history any unsuccessful wilderness years and can only associate being a football fan in terms of glory and winning at any cost.
Yes,i wouldnt change a thing,it keeps me grounded and incredibly appreciative of the wondrous times we experience now.

It still stuns me that they're essentially a mirror image of each other. They bookend that period of our history so beautifully. In both goals the ball is worked in to the edge of the box, it's then scuffed to the right hand side slightly through a sea of legs, and then slammed into the net inside the goalkeeper's near post. The universe works in mysterious ways.

Just watched that on catch up and what struck me was the love of City that everyone involved back then still has and also how grateful they are that the supporters do not forget them. Brilliant 30 mins

Lets not forget Kev Horlock in this, without his 90th minute goal and penalty, (Dickov missed his :-) forgive him though .. we may not have been where we are now ...... kev tends to be forgotten when we wax lyrical about that amazing day, not by me though ....

I've often wondered if Dickov is the only player in history to miss a penalty in a shoot out and be remembered as the hero of that game!?
