West Ham Olympic Stadium

Orient dont want to groundshare or have West Ham on their 'manor' and rightly so. Local kids would have the option to chose a Premier league club (assuming the hammers get back up) or a lower league club on their doorstep. It's bad enough Orient trying to survive with the Hammers a few miles away - as indeed are Spurs, just the other side of the River Lea, without having them in their back garden.

The whole thing is a complete mess and - like Manchester did - should have been sorted years ago before a piece of concrete was laid....

This could turn into a Legal dispute for years to come.

Let's just assume Spuds get the lease on the next Bid, what's to stop Orient and West Ham going to the courts to stop it happening?

And all this time the stadium remains closed.

Just to be pedantic but the Olympic Stadium is actually in Newham which is our borough not Orient's.
Proper happy with the news though, this move would kill our support and lots would stop going because of it. We'd end up like Chelsea or Arsenals support which no-one wants.
Your stadium was re-developed with City in mind and the result is you've got lovely new facilities with stands still fairly tight to the pitch.
We would be miles from the pitch, sections would be closed off as the view would be unsuitable and the seats would remain Black and White. It would be a soulless place with nothing 'West Ham' about it.

Lookin back in hindsight, don't you wish you'd taken the 'Dome' plot back when it may of been available ?

Could'nt the sides at Priory Road and Green Street respectivly get re-constructed up towards the gods' ?
Granted not much could be done in regards ya Sth & Nth Banks.

The Dome is south of the river and in a very much Millwall area so that was never a starter.
We had planning permission to extend the East Stand and bring the capacity upto 45,000 but never followed it up.
45,000 is more than enough for us but Gold & Sullivan are after the Olympic Stadium cash cow now

Would it not be possible for West Ham and Spurs to share the Ground ?

I fail to understand why Spurs' board even want to move away from North (east) London and into the east end..... that just doesn't make sense......

Understand why they want to move from WHL - but not out of their catchment area.

Spurs aren't really interested in moving to the OS. All they want to do is stop West Ham from getting anything for free or on the cheap. Have a look at Glory Glory, it's all about what Levy can screw out of the council. Horrible fucking club that has always put money before anything else. They turned down £17M from Boris Johnson who was offering them a sweetener to just fuck off and stop making waves. Spurs think they can get more.
They seem to think the council should fund most of their redevelopment.
We often get accused of having sold our soul. Spurs have never had one. Money first then football, it's always been their way.
Horrible fucking club, just horrible.

I think that this is all true but also (if I might suggest) missing a particular key point - money

The Sheik is not the normal type of overseas/UK football club owner

Forget his model and look at the motives of the rest........... Generally all about making money

Now Sullivan and Gold - got out of Birmingham at the right time and made a big profit - and targeted WHU - why - not just because of old roots..

London had just won 2012 - and there was a stadiun to be used - and then of course the CITY example did become hugely relevant - if we can attract the Sheik and all the wealth that represents then the 2012 stadium and surrounding land offers an even better opportunity and the person that owns (or perhaps even has a long term lease) will have a strong hand.

And therein lies your answer about Daniel Levy's interest - this is just too good a commerical opportunity to be set aside simply due to football reasons!!!!

In terms of CITY's future dominance of the PL this could be a lucky outcome for us
