Why are Muslims not speaking out against terrorism?

Why do the super wealthy not speak out against poverty?

Why did the communist world not speak out against Stalins fascists?

Why did the Catholic Church not speak out against institutional child abuse? (And indeed most other churches)

Why do so many educated men in the west of all religions and aethiesm still blame women for domestic abuse and rape? Why is the woman's state of dress or intoxivation blamed ahead of a man committing a serious sex crime?

Why do more wealthy white peoples not speak out against racism?

Why do moderate Muslims not speak out more against ISIS?

Why do the tea party and republicans not speak out more against guns, against anti abortion murderers or the shooting of blacks?

Why Why Why?

Because people of all religions, all classes, all countries are well practised at turning a blind eye to deep wrongs if it doesn't effect them or bring them an advantage. Because too many moderates are cowered to silence by the violent ardent rhetoric of extremists or people advantaged to the extreme and it is hard to argue against their bile!

The biggest example for me was when a war hero in Kerry was defeated in the media game on war by a millionaire draft dodging and at the time alcoholic (and possibly more). Why because Bush was more strong in his lies and his conviction than Kerry was and because Kerry was prepared to listen to and understand his enemies whereas Bush was fervent.

The real battle to com will be between extremists and moderates about whether we want to live in a semi fascist world be that Islamic, extreme left or fascist or whether we want to stand up for our freedom and liberal democratic values. The biggest challenge is that to stand up for that you have to allow your enemies the freedom to have ideas that they would deny you

Do you know what I don't get about all this.. Why does main stream media inadvertently aid ISIS with their xenophobic undertones.
The daily mail reads scarily like German newspapers during the 30/40s. We all know how that turned out.

Some of the comments I've been reading really scare me.

Saw a front page of the sun the other day that read; 'One in five Muslims sympathise with IS'
It could just as easily have been; 'Four out of five Muslims don't sympathise with IS' but that wouldn't suit their agenda too well.

It was actually 1 in 5 muslims picked some sympathy, sympathy or don't know out of the four options available to them when asked "Do you have any sympathy for those who have left the UK to fight in Syria" Which means they could have been expressing sympathy for those fighting with the Kurds or complete and utter indifference just as easily as sympathy for IS. They also neglected to mention that when non-muslim Brits were asked the same question the results were similar.

That was sinister as they twisted facts.

Apparently the sample was based on surnames, they did not ask about sympathising for ISIS they asked about sympathising for those going to Syria, IE sympathy to a Kurd or Shia or Sunni going to fight against ISIS was counted within that in 5 .

They also asked the same questions to non Muslims with almost identical results but chose not to mention that

It was fraudulent , it was doing ISIS bidding and it was designed to create race and religious hate. The sun should have been shit down after Hillsborough but now enough is enough

What's that saying about lies and statistics..?
The scary thing is this paper sits on a table in the pub all day and the headline is all that is noticed, and believed.

I've thought for a long time that the Sun should be an exception to the freedom of the press, it's a magazine for starters not a newspaper.
