WikiLeaks Vault7 Release

So if they suspect someone of being a terrorist do they just going knocking on the door and give them a free smart TV :)

As a commercial vendor trying to protect their global reputation Microsoft have to balance the fact that they want to keep their software secure, whilst making sure any patches they release don't f**k up your computer. With Linux or other open source software they pretty much come with a disclaimer that it is open source, and that the users are effectively the guinea pigs for testing the software (including any patches). This is why it takes longer to release patches for Windows.

Not much consolation for the poor saps shitting it the gurning pics of their miserable offspring will be wiped is it hehe. Recently a google team found a vuln and gave ms 90 days to fix it, that has passed with google saying 'well we told you to fix this so we are now informing the world', you can read about it here bud https://www.theregister.co.uk/2017/02/20/google_project_zero_discloses_microsoft_bug_again/ i should note there is a patch for this but some random guys made it, not ms.
