Work: What Did You Wanted To Be, and What Did You Become?

Wanted to play for Spurs or a bed tester

Ended up looking after kids at school and as a business. Don't feel like a job.

Still want to be a bed tester

Still don't know really. Plus I've never been that concerned about tomorrow, never mind beyond. This is to my detriment re work, women and health. And bills.

Fell into IT through helping out at a charity.

At 16 I hadn't a clue. The careers teacher pushed me in the direction of craft apprenticeships. I ended up as a gas turbine engineer here in Malaysia.

Wanted to be a copper but just about the time I was applying for it I had a very serious accident at work and that was that. I was 23 then and it's fair to say the almost twelve years since I have been in a perpetual state of limbo. I've tried various things since without much success but living in Spain makes it all that more difficult to just get out there and get a job. I'm desperately thinking about what I can do and really want to work and find a career but I don't know what.
