Yokohama (A) - Pre-Season Friendly | Post-Match Thread

A lot more positives than negatives , a couple of players ring rusty but some excellent performances from our young players , Palmer , Oscar , Lewis ,Gomez, Bob all looked impressive and certainly didnt look out of place not forgetting that big No.9 up front , he might make a player one day.
Kovacic looked good he's calm on the ball and likes a tackle , and Cancelo played well no doubting his quality, overall a good run out , Stones gets a special mention head and shoulders best player on the pitch alongside Palmer who looked hungry and took the game to Yokohama.

As pre season games go, it was quite decent.

Second half we looked much better but a load of the big guns came on at half time.

Good run out.

Phillips was shite, friendly or not he just looks miles away from staying in that 1st 11

Rico looks great & confident in midfield & linking up but he aint quick enough to play fullback imo

2nd half was so better balanced, would prefer Kovacic to be alongside Rodri & Berny

Rodri just gets better, i recon he will score 10 goals this year

A typical preseason game played with a good tempo throughout the game (partly due to Yokohama F. Marinos extra match sharpness). Plenty of positives but you can't really read anything into the game.

Enjoyed that, good bit of entertainment

If anyone's been to Japan this time of year, you'll know how horribly humid it gets, so definitely a proper work out for the players.

Fair play to Yokohama too, thought they were a decent side and gave us some good work. They put 6 past Celtic the other day. Friendly or not, you have to be a decent team to knock 6 past anyone.

Decent game for the tourist fans who now will get the appetite to get to the Etihad.

Also nice to see the club take all 3 trophies out for those match going fans, whilst here the real fans and supporters clubs get nothing.
