Outstanding the kun of old with a bit of defence added ,welcome back my son...
I cannot believe folks here justifying Aguero to be on bench just because Jesus scored. When you have two great players you should find way to start them both not put one on bench. That is what Pep's job is, if he decides to put Aguero on bench when Jesus returns then he is not doing his job right.
As was the way he handled Yaya.Couldn't disagree more. Pep played it spot on perfectly IMO. The kid came in with incredible confidence, played brilliantly, and Kun was out of form. He showed Gabriel how important he is and how much faith we have in him and he put the pressure on Kun...adapt, adjust, and fight. Show me. Kun looked like a man on a mission tonight and if he breaks out and finishes this season on fire then it was a masterclass all around by Pep. No??

He just needed a goal he can relax and play now
If the only way Pep knows to put pressure on Aguero is to bench him then there is a problem - though i do not believe that was the case. Would he have kept putting pressure on him for the rest of the season if Jesus had not broken his foot, or he realized enough pressure because Jesus's foot is broken. The fact is that Pep needs to find a place for Aguero in starting line-up and all this talk about pressure is nonsense.Couldn't disagree more. Pep played it spot on perfectly IMO. For those questioning whether Pep benching him was the right thing to do:
I think that stat says it is, he wasn't showing that kind of work rate until Pep challenged him this season.
Good post. My biggest issue was his willingness to pass and improve his vision / playing making. I wasn't sure if he would be committed to more of a play making role. He looks like he's adapting, embracing it and seems more rejuvenated. Very optimistic for me as one of his bigger critics.
