Yeah doing it in a second tier European competition where they will be found out when they have to play someone decent. I bet having to watch is the other night killed them inside. They used to regularly get to the later stages of the champions league but they are years away from doing that with where their squad is.

The last time they were a force in the champs league it was 2008 when they had Ronaldo, Tevez and Rooney in their pomp. Since then baring 2011 when a very average Rag team was destroyed by Pep's Barca they have done nothing. Arse whippings off Basel, destroyed by Bilbao,Van Gaal failing in the group stages. They have European pedigree they like to remind us but it's getting towards nearly a decade since anyone in Europe actually feared them.

It wasn't just the setting that would be killing them inside, but also the manner in which the game was played. There is zero chance of them playing football like that with Mourinho in charge. They used to love pontificating about their style of play, but all they serve up now is dour, drab, agricultural and sinfully dull.

Exactly that, could you imagine if they had played the way we did against Monaco and Barca? Could you imagine the wankafon if they had Jesus, Sane and Sterling in their side. They would be calling it the second coming of the holy trinity or the new busby babes or getting the BBC to make a documentary of the class of 2017 when Jesus,Raheem and Leroy buy Curzon Ashton in a few years time.

To be fair, and I'm loathe to give him any credit, Mourinho wasn't their manager back then and I think he was talking from a personal point of view as manager of United rather than a club point of view. I see his comments as more of a swipe at Pellegrini than City (they most certainly can't be a swipe at Pep as he wasn't here last season when we fielded that team against Chelsea in the FA Cup), and if they were aimed in any way at the club then so fucking what? It's long gone now and therefore a shit attempt at some mind games. In any case, I will add that plenty of our own fans weren't too enamoured with that team Pellegrini put out and while I wasn't as arsed as some, I did feel he went too far and could've fielded a more experienced side without jeopardising our plans for the PSG CL game and the League Cup final.

It didn't take Mourinho long to buy into the shit propaganda of his employers. It's a special kind of shithouse who, for no apparent reason, has to have a swipe at another team.
