Claudio Bravo - 2016/2017 performances (continued)

I thought Bravo just had a decent distribution game last night because Hiddersfield played into Pep's hands. I don't think a PL or CL team would be that bad in losing a lot of ball possession and leaving players unmarked in a lot of space.
I think a better team wouldn't have let him do it and would have had a lot more shots at him and he's lacking the confidence to cope with that

I like this - be hilarious if Pep starts using the phrase " pissing around at the back " in his team talks ?

I think he should. That's how everyone round me sees it. It's like they've never seen a Guardiola team play.

People slate the media for having their claws out for Pep, but a lot of our own fans are no different and seem to yurn for the days of Joe Royal and his 6 centre halves.

Some things never change with some City supporters , and accepting what Pep is trying to introduce causes them problems.

But I personally don't see the point of employing one of the best coaches in the game and then moaning about his tactics.

Prior to his arrival, everyone salivated at the thought of him becoming our boss. They yearned for his forward thinking tactical brilliance. We all knew he was different and we all knew that he would drag English football into the 21st century so its all the more perplexing to see some of them up in arms over it all.

"Pissing around with it" as a few have now called it is absolutely key in dragging the opposition on so as to create the space for us to attack and exploit. To enable that a goalkeeper who is comfortable with the ball at his feet is also key and Pep isnt going to change that need any time soon.

We won 5-1 last night, end of and for Bravo's poor attempt at a save we could spend hours dissecting every other player out there and some of their mistakes as well if we are going to go down that road.

Get behind Pep, his players, his method and for fucks sake, just enjoy it because at times its spectacular and its beautiful.

Spot on ... many of our fans would be happier with Fat Sam.

Two thumbs up from me, mate.

I will also add this.

Right from the get go, especially in the midst of our fantastic start, Pep kept telling us all that due to what he was asking of the players, mistakes would happen, they would cost goals and they would also cost us games but that it was all part of the learning process and short term pain for the long term goal.

Well guess what? He was right, fancy that.

I've made peace with it and have accepted his words in good faith and embraced his plans warts and all because we have to get behind him and what he is going to do for us as a club.

I've run out of thumbs.

The crux of this matter is that bravo was supposed to be a good all round keeper but for whatever reason he is only good at distribution,if he was doing ok at both sides of being a keeper we would all be happy,we all want the best team possible and i hope pep can sort him out soon

Yet Hart is a two time winner of the PL and contributed hugely to both. He will only end up going to a rival of ours and I can't see any positive in that. Its just a strange, strange stance that Pep has took in my opinion.

That's the worst thing about it, we could end up strengthening a rival at our own expense. Hart is world class and did nothing wrong for us, he's up there with Courtois and De Gea, sure he's made errors but all keepers do, look at Lloris against us a few weeks ago, but he's a top class keeper.

I don't think there is one first choice keeper in the Prem who is worse than Bravo, in my opinion. If there's no way back for Hart (and I reluctantly accept this seems to be the case, sadly), then we need to spend big on a keeper in summer. It's a key position and we can't keep dropping points because we've got a gibbon in goal.

Fuck it, just fucking sign Neuer and be done with it!

People would mock the suggestion but when you replace someone in their respective position of the quality of Hart, for example, you aim for better. Neuer is better. Neuer is an upgrade. Neuer makes sense. De Gea makes sense. He's a better keeper now than Hart.
Claudio Bravo isn't even an upgrade on the keeper who was playing second fiddle to Hart.
It's been a disastrous signing and Pep needs to make it right in the summer.

I don't mind playing out from the back.

But the 'keeper needs to actually be a good 'keeper too, obviously, and Bravo's fucking shite.

You are preaching to the converted in my case. Let Pep get on with it and stop pining for the return of a player who the manager doesn't see as being part of his plan.

OMG. Do you expect the keeper to be regularly saving shots form 7 yards? It was a defensive mistake that led to that goal. How many dangerous situations did we avoid by not hoofing the ball straight back to the opposition, but by playing from the back. He closed the angle well and was unlucky not to make the save. Some people ... honestly. Worst keeper in EPL? Tell me you are joking.

Indeed.

Football manager doesn't fancy a player and moves him on shocker.

Some are acting like its an attack on the very fabric of the club and that it goes against all that is right and decent when in reality, it happens at every single club every single season.

Players are professionals, not fans and lets not forget they too often fancy a change, much to the angst of fans.

There is nothing to see here other than the next phase for the club and sqaud.

What rival will Hart go too? He's not in the same league as De Gea, Lloris or Courtois. Maybe Liverpool, but they're nowhere near title contenders.
