Etihad Campus, Stadium and Collar Site Development Thread

No reference to the collar site: I'm sure all that is in addition to the leisure destination.

Bit disappointed to see no news of a train station interjected onto the line at the back of the car park...

All looks good but I guess it's all about the quality of the subsequent submissions. With the development of the collar site I would imagine increased pressure on transport links but saw little or nothing in the strategic framework on how that will be dealt with.

Oh that's no problem. It can be dealt with the same as the recent City ground expansion: 20 more tram cars on each line to Stretford.

Pages 48-50 surely?

Edit: I'm referring to jrb's link rather than the MEN article

Yeah - I should've been clearer. In a roundabout way I was saying this University plan is not really linked to the Collar Site plot (which is indeed mentioned in the report, albeit in very little detail).
Still,very exciting.

Read the papers that we are going to get a uni next to the campus. I wonder if it will be an extension of our existing unis, MMU, or UoM. Salford?

I thought the plan is to build the university on the collar site?

The train / tram infrastructure needs to be substantially increased / improved simultaneously with all other development projects.

Are there any plans to integrate Ashburys into the Etihad Community transport plan ?

More this section of the area:

Their proposal would see lecture theatres, halls of residence, offices, laboratories and training centres built on land to the north west of City’s stadium, around the Regional Athletics Centre and either side of the Ashton canal.

Reading that framework document, the Etihad campus area already benefits from "excellent transport connectivity" so clearly there is no need to invest any further.

I would suggest that the authors (AECOM) didn't venture near the area on a match day.
