Stoke post match thread

How do you know that was the reason we drew?

We had our chances to put the game to bed and didn't take them, that's all there is to it.

Your second sentence may be true, but we'd have surely maximised our chances if we'd not wasted an hour with Clichy and Navas on the field, when we created absolutely feck all. Looked a hell of a lot better with Dave on and KDB whipping the ball in.

As I've said many times before, Fernandinho is incredibly over rated on here. I hope we sign a replacement for him in the summer.

And when he plays them low, he gets stick for it hitting the defenders shins. Nobody really played well, especially first half but we have had quite a few poor performances/results at home this season even with a full strength team, so I'm not sure it's entirely down to team selection. We just don't seem to have found an answer to dealing with packed defences.
I'm certain that ifor it was Sterling on the other flank we would have carved them open. Whatever he does be it hitting the low balls or high crosses into the box he lacks the intelligence to do stuff out of the conventional and this is why he's pretty easy to defend against. I love his personality and attitude but I'd much rather have him in another club

Very frustrating but not the end of the world.
Poor first half but better second
Was disappointed with a lot of simple headers or touches going astray from defenders or opportunities to control and pass into midfield. The lack of vim and vigour from the full backs is nothing new and didn't help Navas or Sane
Positives are we still created the opportunities and Silva showed just what a great player he is

One of our better performers and still a versatile players you can have in the squad. We had enough creativity on the pitch but failed to break down a resolute Stoke side.

KDB was poor tonight but he still put some very good balls into that box which should have resulted in goals. Clichy was poor as was Sagna we need fullbacks who can cross the ball instead of waiting for an overlap. I swear I never see teams setup and defend like that when playing the other big boys we get it far to often.

We're on a fantastic run of games tonight makes us 10 undefeated also another clean sheet. Our next run of fixtures are very tasty indeed Boro, Monaco, Liverpool, Arsenal & Chelsea those games will define our season.

Really can't wait to get to the summer tho and ship out more deadwood and bring in some more hunger.

Anyway back to Ghost Recon for me chins up blues the future is very bright and I'm not getting off this rollercoaster anytime soon.

really unpopular but fully agree....

people say he is the replacement for silva...for me he has a long way to go regarding how to control and run again....he often goes missing when silva isn't playing.

It's frustrating as he has all the skill in the world to do it.

We shouldn't have needed to bring Silva on tonight.

i suppose mate. i think any team would find it difficult to break these teams down. boro especially had all the players behind the ball. away from homes a different story as usually the home team come out and attack.

Yeah mate - definitely difficult. Not just us who have suffered at home, but the likes of Spurs and Chelsea seem to have a winning formula especially against the shite.

I think our full backs are a huge issue in terms of this - a prime Zaba would have got in behind them tonight. Clichy/Sagna are completely useless at providing an overlap against teams that park the bus.

We had the chances to win a shite game against a shite team games like this come along once or twice a year. Move on next game.

How did we, we drew?

Again, Sane, KDB and Aguero all played 90 minutes.

You want to blame Pep, fine, but don't underrate our team so much to suggest they weren't capable of beating Stoke. They had enough opportunities to see the game off and didn't.

We got him for a bargain price because he's an average player.

Don't make it out like he was a bargain.

Average players don't win premier league titles with two different clubs and the amount of trophies this lad has won. Take the weight off your brain for a few minutes and have a think about that. Daz 'True Blue' my arse....

Clearly haven't been following City for very long if you think some of these players are 'dog shite'. You sound about just what the team needs when the going gets tough. An immature gobshite who turns on his own team. I would rather stick pins in my testicles then have to sit next to a fuckwit like you for 90 minutes listening to the shite that you spout. Past your bedtime now fella. Don't be late for school in the morning and don't let your Ma catch you playing with yourself whilst dribbling over pics of Ryan Giggs again......

I'd rather Sterling and Silva be fresh for two upcoming fixtures where we have a realistic chance of winning the competition than a game where we can't.

I see your point but its frustrating that with the squad available we can't beat Stoke at home, Premier league and top 4 should be priority.
