Referees/Officials

Is there any referee this season who is fair to us? It's been absolutely disgraceful and despicable. Oliver today and the linesman on the CB stand side were so bad it was unbelievable.

Oliver was bad but the linesman as you say made 7 or 8 mistakes. He was very poor and miles behind the play.

Who'd be a ref?
Maybe Clichy wasn't a pen (I think it was as it was a crazy tackle from behind) but it was such a stupid angle and lunge from him that the ref had no choice.
Sterling's was a pen I thought - I have no facts to back this up but I'd love to see some actual stats on the players who most 50:50 decisions go against. I bet he's way up there.

Beyond a joke fuck the fa! Didnt expect anything less from Oliver after his performance for the rags this season! He even bottled sending a couple of ours off late on!

Think we had one at the start of the season but he's been moved on now ;-) seriously though it's happening every game and more so at home ones, there definitely seems to be something going on wonder if the media portrayal of certain players and the club in general has it in the officials minds when they do our games..

Where can you start with either of these two - the Whistling Wanker's Whistling Wanker and a first half flag happy knob whose spring-loaded arm in the second half had clearly suffered metal fatigue. This flag-waving tosser was in stark contrast to the pillock at the other end who seemed to insist that the game must run three minutes minimum before he can find the muscular strength to raise his arm.

I think I have twigged how refs at the Etihad this season are awarding penalties. For the away side somebody in the crowd has to raise a card with the word pen on it and the ref can yea or nay it (today it was a yea!) whilst the home side have to give a minimum of two weeks notice via The Times classified columns with the minute of the penalty clearly numbered, in as many language in which the EU do their business.

The guy next to me said "I can't get angry, I'm just speechless!"

Do you mean finding people to vouch for the team from within is currently a problem?... if that is what you mean then Yes, that is certainly a problem. But there are other ways to at least raise awareness about the issue.

Yes more to do more to do with the first part of your post and that is the only way to get some balance back. Us supporters can't do much on this issue as it would mean turning our backs on the game and that will hurt the club more than it would give the establishment another kick up the backside. We are complaining but that is falling on deaf ears with people in charge.

As I've just posted in the post match thread (& now think it should have been in here! Sorry Mods)........I actually asked someone today if they thought that the referees union had passed a motion saying they would work to rule against Manchester City all season............... but their own made up rules not the usual rules for everyone else!!!
It's now beyond a joke and about time someone at the club came out and said something or even did something.

Absolutely gob smacked with the non penalty decision for sterling, even aguero was being wrestled to the ground, so to miss two clear fouls is beyond a joke. I honestly dont think there's an agenda against city when it comes to the refereeing performances but there comes a point when you have to question why we're being denied clear, match defining decisions?

We have to keep on keeping on..if that makes sense. Challenge the system and hold the officials accountable in a public manner and constantly raise awareness of the issue. No need to turn our backs on anything.

The standard of refereeing in the PL is actually disgraceful. Contrary to what many believe I don't think they're bent or biased. Just plain shite. Our game is awash with cash we should cast our net far and wide, pay them multiple times what they now earn, give ex players etc a reason to want the job.
Refereeing standard in CL/EL makes ours look embarrassing.

It does makes sense but there are times when you think is it worth it and has the game gone past a certain point where the game in this country can't or won't change. Of course it would take one big scandal for that to happen but, the FA are adept at sweeping things under a carpet.

its a lovely thought but sadly way off the mark.

a lot of refereeing go's on behind closed doors, we don't see the half of it.

I doubt there is a team in Europe that is getting regularly screwed by referees both at home and in Europe as us. It's just a norm in our games. Whatever is not clear million percent is going against us.

I think one of the reasons Pep is so pumped up and is hinting that he wants to stay here longer than initially thought is because he is fed up with injustice he is seeing and want to stick it to them once we become too good for refs to stop us.
