Arsenal Post Match Thread.

Even though Ratboy Neville is becoming a ruthless pundit, he is spot on that we will never win the league playing this way. He did vote for us to be top 4 though, and as we currently aren't playing well, I'll take that, as long as the rags are 6th!!!

We might aswel have Keegan on the touch line!

Probably get stick for this but I'm not sure he's a Pep player, his work rate is shocking.
When played in his natural position ,as for Wolfsburg and under Pelli he was an absolute world beater. Pep changes his role and it does not suit. You can't blame Kevin for that. If Pep decides to play him in a position that has a detrimental affect on his performances, it's up to Pep. The pass for the first goal was fantastic.

Sterling is the player that pissed me off the most, looked totally out of his depth today. How a players performances can fluctuate so much I do not know. Never put a foot right. Balls that should be his he doesn't get to or sets him self up awkwardly, giving defenders the half chance they need, and ends up on the deck pleading for a foul. It happens all to often.

2pts lost big time, fuckin disgrace of a 2nd hlf performance, navas is a championship player at best, i wouldnt trust that clown to cross the road nevermind the ball, arsenal were there to be beat but we fuckin bottled it as per usual
I must have watched a different game. Navas put several decent crosses in today and did well in a very unfamiliar position

Seem to take our foot off the gas in games, which in turn leads to teams getting back into it,Arsenal are atrocious this season they where there for the taking but as has been our achilles heel this season we are the cause of the majority of goals conceded by faffing around with the ball at times,it is alright to lump it clear on occasions..

2 points dropped against a team on their back with their tummy showing.

We looked tired and disjointed for 70mins of that game.

Was calling out for yaya but he looked so far off the pace. Kdb still hasn't clicked since the Chelsea game, thought it was odd taking off Sterling given how good those 3 have been and 45mins after a international break I think he deserved longer.

On to Wednesday.

No player made more tackles (7) than makeshift right-back Navas today, and he also made 2 key passes (only Silva managed more for City).

Making Navas a scapegoat tonight is a disgrace. The boy made sure their best by far and most active player had the least possible impact in the game. Fact. And contributed as much as he could in our attacking game throughout the match. The quality of his contribution debatable perhaps, his effort absolutely not. Not to mention, Pablo or Bachary could have easily been humiliated tonight...

PS. Whether Navas should be a member of the squad or not is clearly a different discussion. If he shouldn't, if he should have left in the summer, it's not his fault, is it?

Really?? I keep hearing what a great manager Pep is but not seen any evidence of that so far. We've been bang average all season and almost every time we get an opportunity, like today, we blow it. Some of his decisions are pretty mystifying and I'm yet to be convinced, e.g. the whole goalkeeper fiasco, the stupid insistence on playing out from the back, the total lack of defensive understanding, the Toure fiasco, the way he over complicates everything and confuses the fook out of everyone etc etc. Yet apparently it's all ok cos it's Pep and he'll sort it all out next season.
This....sick of hearing how he's going to sort everything out. His half time team talks don't seem to work either. Overrated manager living on past acheivments

Yes this all day long. Just lost our killer instinct.

Not losing it, we have lost it. Pep is trying to get it back.

As I see it our performances against big teams have been much improved to last season, but as said we haven't killed the games off.

At the same time though, our record at Arsenal, and and anfield for that matter, wasn't great under Mancini or Pelligrini.

Generally I'd take a point at the Emirates although I can understand today's disappointment.

I think we can win the league playing this way, just new player at the back. Clichy, and Navas at fullback - they wouldn't get into Altrincham's team!

Ratboy - 'City will be upset they didn't get the penalty, Arsenal will be happy it wasn't given'.

Just say it was a penalty you tw@t.

Yet another blatant penalty decision cost us , Sterling last week and Monreal this week , i know we shouldnt rely on referee decisions to win games , but it is happening every single week , we deserved six points from the last couple of games and got two . Apparently they even themselves out over the course of the season , i don't f*cking think so. Really annoyed we have not taken maximum points agisnt the dippers and tarquins, and i expect more of the same on Wednesday against the Chavs we just are not getting the decisions in games , we are playing 12 men every week or 15 if you count the linesmen and the 4th official.

Agree. He posed more of a threat in the final third than Sterling did and played some nice passes to keep possession and shift the play forward.

As expected we will be playing for fourth position.
Plenty of reasons for that including ref bias and poor finishing, imagine where we would be if Pep rectifies the ones he can influence with existing or new players.
