Chelsea (a) post match thread

The emperor has no clothes. Pep you are a friggin fake. Spend a quick billion and then you can show us how good you are. 15 seconds to go and we pass back to the half way line. His philosophy is a joke

Said this all along. Completely conned by these Spanish idiots that were brought in to oust Mancini and we've gone backwards ever since. As Francis Lee said 'If only there was a cup for cock ups'

5 years ago we were as good as any team this country had ever seen. We had the chance to dominate for maybe 10 years. Instead, we have completely fucked up and are more faded than the United team I was laughing at under Moyes.

Truly dreadful.

The difference is Chelsea got exactly the right manager for their team and we didn't, next season that hopefully won't be the case. The fact I'm not bothered by the result speaks volumes. The only game I'm remotely interested in is the cup semi.

What squad??? We have one of the weakest where it matters.... defensively!!!!!
That's more to do with the defence he was left with than it is tactics. Stones and Otamendi aside(who cannot form a solid partnership) look at what we have and compare it to the top 6, ours are all on the wrong side of 30, Clichy puts us in so many dangerous situations on his own almost every game(not really his fault). If we set the whole team up just to make it easier on our ageing defence then the amount of chances we create isn't happening you can't have your cake an eat it, also asking a manager to get the team playing in a way he doesn't even believe in is probably a recipe of disaster a manager needs to believe in what he's telling his players to be able to convince them.

I'm surprised Toure never came on. He's exactly who you need when you need to create something from nothing. That pass from Nolito was amazing though.
No he isn;t. His legs have gone. If you want to play a game out and dictate passing perhaps

Really? Can you honestly say that? We've just gone to Chelsea away and acted like the fuckin home team pal. They didn't go toe to toe with us once and relied on Hazard. Can't believe how negative some of you lot can be after watching years of pure fuckin shite. Unreal.

I agree mate, we are a much better footballing team but we need to replace the full backs and get a few refs on our side

Everyone saying how we need to spend big in the summer etc. How about giving the youth team players a chance. It was a big mistake letting the two fullbacks go out on loan and then resorting to playing navas and Fernandinho there. Surely they would have done just as good a job. At least we could have assessed them and then sold them on in the summer.

Pochetino seems to be able to integrate young players into his side pretty well. Koeman is doing the same for Everton. If we carry on spending millions on the likes of Ottamendi, Mangala, Fernando etc how will the academy players ever get a chance?

Personally I'd rather watch entertaining football rather than go a goal up and park the bus. I genuinely thought we played well tonight but of course same mistakes cost us again.

I'd rather win, but it's apples and oranges I guess.

Vincent Kompany plays forward............... Guardiola doesn't like that, he likes to see them passing back............ maybe now we know why Vincent has not been picked even though he has been fit!!!

Plus is there some Guardiola rule that says we can't put on a sub until at least 70 minutes!!

I had a ticket for the match tonight & booked trains & a hotel but for personal reasons I wasn't able to go! I'm not even sorry that I've lost that money apart from one thing........ I missed Vincent Kompany's return!

Chelsea barely finished in the top 10 last season yet are over 10 points clear of us now. Plus they have spent less than us in the summer.

Poor transfer policy, poor management, and poor players that have offered up poor execution.

regardless of where chelsea finished last year right now their squad is stronger then ours....we have nothing off the bench that offers any type of skill other then sterling in tonights case....thats purely on our shit transfer policies lately.....doesnt help that jesus is hurt still

VK at least proved he's fit. Not sure if he will feature in Peps "cull"
In the summer. It's long overdue.
No point having 60% possession and losing!! Fcuking awful tactic.

Sorry but are you arguing with yourself???

Sergio relies very heavily on his service nowadays.

In his first 3/4 seasons at City he could win games and unlock defences on his own, now he can't.
He used to go past players with ease, seems to have lost a yard of pace.

^ agree.
Look at our bench tonight...only sterling could've made a difference. Our squads shit so im not surprised we are where we are right now.

This summer we have to spend big to challenge for the title...can't wait till the deadwood leave this summer.

Realistically we need a minimum of:
_ 1x goalie (£25m)
- 3x full backs (3x £20m)
- 2x centre backs (2x £40m)
- 2x midfielders (2x £30m)
- 2x forwards (3 if Sergio goes) (2/3x £50m)

Total of about £325-375m as a minimum and means recruiting 10 or 11 players and that's not accounting for the players we have to get rid of.

Does anybody have the confidence in Txiki to achieve this. I don't.

Next season could be another one of those "next year Rodders we'll be millionaires" type like this one is.

Don't even think some people watched this game, Chelsea being the better side? Don't make me laugh. Even defensively the game wasn't that bad aside from the PK which was on Dinho, but aside from that just like Arsenal, Chelsea were there for the taking, but the flopping up front cost them the game.
Chelsea didn't need to play better football. They controlled the game easily.

Congratulations to Sunderland for beating us tonight ....or so it seems to some. We got beat by the best team in the league who this year decided to try. Not some master stroke from conte, this is the Chelsea team that pissed the league the season before. We are short of two fullbacks who attack and a central midfielder who actually gets in the box. All this shit about pep being clueless is fucking laughable....we are where we should be this year and if it's not better next season then start questioning the manager.

might not go that far but i am agreeing with your optimism. i dont blame pep at all for our shortcomings this season. he has got sweet fuck all to work with, in regards to midfield and defence. people need to be patient, it will come!

"sweet fuck all" to work with...£45m Sterling, £50m Stones, Kun Aguero, £30m Sane, £50m KDB, Spain's most capped midfielder of all time, £26m Fernandinho...etc etc etc...yes, absolutely a paucity of talent there, poor soul.
