That's more to do with the defence he was left with than it is tactics. Stones and Otamendi aside(who cannot form a solid partnership) look at what we have and compare it to the top 6, ours are all on the wrong side of 30, Clichy puts us in so many dangerous situations on his own almost every game(not really his fault). If we set the whole team up just to make it easier on our ageing defence then the amount of chances we create isn't happening you can't have your cake an eat it, also asking a manager to get the team playing in a way he doesn't even believe in is probably a recipe of disaster a manager needs to believe in what he's telling his players to be able to convince them.What squad??? He used to go past players with ease, seems to have lost a yard of pace.Sergio relies very heavily on his service nowadays.
In his first 3/4 seasons at City he could win games and unlock defences on his own, now he can't.

might not go that far but i am agreeing with your optimism. i dont blame pep at all for our shortcomings this season. he has got sweet fuck all to work with, in regards to midfield and defence. people need to be patient, it will come!
