Chelsea (a) post match thread

pep has not come up to scratch this season but we have to give him a free pass. next season he will have nowhere to go, he has to perform.

He has to be backed by the club though bill....otherwise he will. Regardless of what type of manager you are unless you have adequate players to play the way you want, if you dont get them it wont work

On the basis I said your average football manager used to be a player. Fact. Less footballers go into higher education than everyone else in society. Fact. By default your average football manager is likely to have less of an education.

unfortunately i can never watch highlights when we have lost. But I will take your word for it. Still doesn't mean I am not pissed off (not with today just in general with the way the season went..)

when you win the champions league can i have your autograph

You're kidding yourself. Tonight was men against boys. A bunch of fancy Dan's from Manchester full of nice players but little heart vs a bunch of well drilled, deadly serious men, each of who knew exactly what his job was.
I think you missed my point...you ended up saying exactly what I meant

Funny as f**k on here sometimes. Any Sunderland fans looking at this will be absolutely pissing themselves. We are still 4th, and although we are frustrating to watch sometimes I still have to pinch myself.

"We're Not Really Here"!!!!!

Oh right so chucking away last minute goals at home to everton, leading 2-0 against spurs and chucking it away, witnessing the worst referreing performance in history in the 1-3 vs chelsea and all the others and you are on planet earth are you? Ok.

Proper teams don't 'chuck games away' and they certainly don't do it several times, and reasonable human beings don't blame 'the referees' for being 14 points behind a team who've beaten us in both games this season.

expected that result. 2 points from the last 3 is really poor. hopefully pep can change things this summer, without having to break the bank.

I don't know, is it just me or we look so weak, and out of energy. All the other teams look bigger, stronger, faster. Starting the season we were pressing so high, on big tempo, in big groups, with whole team. Now it looks like some players know they are out anyway, and are starting to be unmotivated and don't have that fighting mentality in them. Clichy is the worst i've seen him, fernandinho almost non existant, nolito slow as fuck, sterling wasteful, we look really bad. I think that Jesus comeback will turn it around, he makes that frontline come into life. Aguero creates nothing, he can score crackers, and put sitters to bed, but he brings nothing to overall team play right now. sterling, and sane come into life when gabriel jesus is around. We need changes, it's so obvious. team is too slow and out of energy. we bring new fullbacks, CM of highest quality, AM (Isco?), GK, bring some academy talents, we caan have a gem or two there (Diaz, Foden, Sancho, ICP, Unal, Roberts). And we will looke like a team. I can see what pep is having in mind, but few players are not up to the standards needed for that team, to play the way he sees it, or no longer wants to give it all for the team, because they are out anyway. We were toothless

In summer it will be solved I am quite sure about that , but pep has to find solution to finish this season on high with resources he hes.

Brilliant - all the lunacy of this thread summed up in the parody post
Well said. It's getting ridiculous now. No shit bottom half team is going to get a result at the Etihad.

....except Stoke

...and Boro

But look at the Swansea and Sunderland games we fucking smashed them!

Agreed. I was talking with my older brother after the Liverpool draw, he's been through the trenches with City far more than I have, he remarked that Pep could well end up turning into Wenger and he might well be right.

Some of the comments on here are getting quite ridiculous. Wenger has been with Arsenal for 20 years you idiot. The Liverpool game you mention was a fantastic game.

I'd rather pull people up on their shit opinions thanks. Delph wasn't playing in defence by the way and Vinny had a decent first game back after injury. Those two are facts, although you do score bonus points for saying our defence is shit. Sadly you've picked out the wrong two players who contribute to that.
So Delph playing in a dm role is not part of the defense, and you come on here when people are annoyed about losing to wind them up, fuck off

The owners of this club have not got him to put him under pressure and, if he wanted to sign a new contract, they'd snap his hand off. I think next season might be too soon as well to be honest.
If getting players to play how he wants was easy, everyone would be doing it. It obviously isn't and quite a few of the current squad have demonstrated it's beyond them. I think it's quite refreshing that we've got a principled man at the helm who won't compromise on how he thinks the game should be played. If we'd wanted practical, no nonesense football, we'd have got Mourinho and been watching Ibrahimovic. That's not turned out quite how they imagined, I wouldn't have thought and I wouldn't swap it for quids. Let's see where we are in 2020, as I reckon we'll be absolutely flying. Onwards and upwards.

Sense spoken at last from someone who see's the bigger picture.

Just got on the train. Talking to a few Chelsea fans, their opinion was we were by far the best team they have played and we should have won. On a positive Delph had a good game but again full backs were shocking

Just go back and read your last post because it says it all. Your backing a team that was in its height compared to a team that needs rebuilding at the back Since Bobby was in charge. Rolled over and died you said, abysmal mentality....oh dear.

It happened, how cringeworthy of you to argue against it.

A team with players costing 50m, 25m, 54m, 25m, 38m, 40m along with others is not allowed to be compared to a team that won? They were only at their height because they won.
Their mentality was superb, they were men and they suffered no fools when the going got tough
What is your point, are you arguing they wouldn't man handle this lot?

I don't get what your problem is, its a forum with opinions and you can't counter-act mine with anything other that childish responses, which doesn't befit your username

You won't bother because you can't. There is no measurable progress. Pep has inherited new, better players, but we will have a worse season than last, how is that progress?

Which new, better players make our starting XI? Sane and Stones?

I don't know what you expect, but the man has been handed a season of reliance on Gael fucking Clichy at left back and lord knows who at right back. He made Kolarov a CB by necessity too.

We simply don't have the tools to compete and it's nothing to do with "Fraudiola".

Every clubs supporters are moaners when things don't happen. It's never been any different on here, just the volume of members and expectations/disappointments aligning to the current ambition of our club.

The last 3 years have been 'could/should/would' haves. Of course it's going to rub people up the wrong way.
That's my whole point, things are happening and if people can't see that then I despair.
