Nothing Livingstone said was anti-Semitic and yet again this vast over sensitivity on the issue does nothing but provide a backlash and normalise racist thought.

I couldn't be arsed about the rights and wrongs of Livingstone's pronouncements. The guy's totally irrelevant.

My point was about the so-called opposition immersing themselves in nitshit and infighting while the government of the day has to take difficult decisions.

And also about supporters of the nitshit party taking free pot-shots when their own lot don't know whether to shit or shave.

Only some of them.

Some of us in Labour are busy banging our heads against the wall and trying to stop Tom Watson and Jeremy Corbyn from splitting the Party in two entirely to fellate their own egos. We're in the minority generally.

But remember that as bad as things get at the top, all political parties are at their heart staffed by keen, community driven grassroots activists who work very hard to protect people's rights and help them where they need to be helped. Getting involved in local politics removed a large amount of cynicism I have about it as you meet some of the most fair minded and decent people I've ever come across. And that crosses party ranks. Nothing gives me more hope for the future of the country than seeing some of the people involved in this.

Well good luck to you, mate. I wasn't having a pop at you, by the way.

I'm not sure you could say that of the Tories, the civic minded grassroots Tory is a rare creature indeed.

Do you think we could proceed without personal insults? It undermines any points you may make. Argue your case, listen to others and attack the argument, not the man or woman.

It's like playground stuff.

I know I have set myself up for personal insults now :)

So in the Glasgow tradition of always try to get in a retaliatory strike first, you're all a shower of cunts.

Apart from those who agree with me obviously. You're a credit to your mothers. :)

Again and again the snowflakes drag it back to the economic side of things because there is no definitive as yet to how the situation will develop, so they can continue the doom and gloom nonsense.

It was about much more than money.

Sovereignty for a start, but the argument that its better to have decisions made by people who are accountable to the population wins hands down when the alternative is by people who do not have this countries best interests at heart and can never be held to account.

Immigration, another tripping point where their only fall back is trying to equate controlled immigration and mass immigration, being able to Taylor the numbers and skills to what the country requires is a far cry from an open door policy where public services can no longer cope, oh and shout racist a lot because logic is hard to argue against.

The Law, the most important difference between us and the European model. our Law is above and separate from the state, and gives the individual rights and freedoms, theirs gives the power to the state over the individual with no recourse.

Security, argue that a controlled border is somehow not a step up from the free for all we have now as much as you like, but at its base level its no more complicated than a night club, they screen punters to keep the trouble makers out.

How did the EU affect our sovereignty ?

What specific EU laws was you against ?

You think so? Tory party membership has plummeted and it's members are old. The party is highly regionalised, dead as a grassroots organisation in much of the country. The Tory party as a party that wins elections is strong but its ground game is severely limited by the nature and the numbers of its membership.

Besides, the nature of conservatism is such that it is, for the most part, pro-establishment, so as a grass roots organisation it is not at the forefront of agitating for social change.

The party at the top has been hi-jacked by neo-liberals having flirted with cuddly conservatism under "Call me Dave" but neither of these movements really impact on the bulk of Tory party membership which is a lumpen group whose only distinguishing feature is their reactionary middle Englishness, no high minded nonsense for them just practical no nonsense bigotry. When ideology rears its ugly head in the bowels of the party it usually comes from its youth wing, and periodically central office has to send someone down to dole out a slapping.

Don't take my word for it, ask May about her "nasty party".

As near to correct as makes no difference, worth noting the same critters were present in large numbers in "New labour".

.

Here is where you go wildly off course, most of "Middle England" are conservative* by nature, as in believe in the rule of law and a sense of fair play, think the government should stick to running the country for the benefit of the people instead of being a nanny state, and that people should take responsibility for their actions.
Non of the above includes "Bigotry", that comes in from the neo liberals.

* You will find many "working class" voters hold virtually the same views but reject the descriptive for some misguided sense of politics, in fact they are in many ways a better example, they would bring back capital punishment and hold the view if you want something get off your arse and earn it.

You're clearly a Tory, to misquote Mandy Rice-Davies..

"Well you would say that, wouldn't you?"

Does that include not letting parents take children out of school for holidays? Supreme Court has said they should go to prison.

Unless of course the guy involved takes his case to the European Court of Justice - while he can!

The gov shoukd outlaw price hikes during school holidays.

Job done.

A Tory Government interfering with the market forces that their policy has created?

Bring back Wakes weeks and spread the holiday season.

Wow The European Court of Justice can overide our own Supreme Court! I think we need to leave this trading block.
