The counter argument is that we aren't winning anything this season because of lack of depth. You lose one player (like we did with Jesus) and your season is over.

That would be a better counter argument if it was even remotely true.

Morning folks, so is this deal looking likely then? Buzzing if true!! Room for Sergio as well and we would have a truly world class attacking set of players!

I'd be happy with Sane, Aguero, Jesus ,Sterling and Sane but I can't see it myself.

I think we have to cover for loss of form, injuries, suspensions etc mate? Raheem has had a great season but still sometimes needs a break when he has a poor run, same with Leroy and even Sergio

Not true.... we have created countless opportunities this season and been wasteful in front of goal. Those areas haven't been great but the Achilles has been up top!

You don't get many champions conceding as many goals as we have or will by the end of the season to be fair.

We've missed chances but we've also conceded a fair few as well.

Well I didn't want him but I've just seen an interview Arsenal have uploaded onto YouTube - 'What I Learned from Messi' or something along those lines - and he came across brilliantly. That hunger and self belief is an attitude that I want our youngsters to learn from.

Link, please?

No such thing as a starting 11 under Pep. Get him in and spread the workload over 60+ games. We've been caught short previous seasons with Strikers being injured. To pick from Jesus, Aguero & Sanchez means a real push on 4 fronts.

We'd concede less if we scored more.

Our failures to convert opportunities up front put greater pressure, especially mental, on the defence and increase the chances of error. Also, we give teams far more of a chance than we should in games, get ourselves two or three ahead more often and earlier in games and the weaker opponents will just go for damage limitation. Confidence in our team builds and we defend better - as a team - (so long as complacency does not rear its ugly mug).

Virtuous circles.
