Alexis Sanchez

Missed our chance to sign him when we bought Jesus / Sane / Nolito imo. Top class player if a bit of a whiny prick, guess he fits in with the crowd over there then.

Would love to sign him but just feels we are too front loaded right now. I guess you could argue Navas and Nolito are shorter term players and if a deal for Sanchez was possible moving them on for him would make sense.

Would leave us with Sterling / Sane/ Jesus / Sanchez for wingers with Aguero / Nacho for strikers with Sanchez / Jesus as an options. Looks amazing on paper and some good goalscorers among them.

I'm always a bit pessimistic about rumours like this as its an easy way to get a nice big new contract.

Never going to happen. We have Aguero and Jesus on his way, with Sane, KDB, Iheanacho, etc, all in the attacking positions.

While we also have the likes of Brahim who could be potentially challenging for a first team spot come next season.

Just my personal opinion, but I think this 'we already have X in this position' is the wrong thinking for a top club. If a player like Sanchez becomes available you have to buy him. It doesn't matter which players you already have. In best case you got two top players for one position, having a fair completion for the starting spot. If the new player is better than the old one, it's still possible to sell him.

Apparently he is asking for a huge raise in salary which I doubt they will be able to match. He is turning 28 and has only 18 months left on his contract which means they have to sell, this the best possible scenario for them in terms profitability. It's very unlikely he will sign an extension for a team that doesn't win. It's a good opportunity for us, only Pep knows.

£400k pw reported when Arse won't go over £200kpw in their wage structure. His agent is saying the Chinese will pay it.

If any City player up to and including Kun tried this I'd tell him we will take £100m for him off the Chinese, pack yer bags and develop a taste for egg fried rice mate - nobody plays the **** like this and I am sick of players and their agents doing this now. Let him ply his trade in some second rate league in a smog filled Beijing and learn that even a multi millionaire can be greedy.

Where did you get those numbers from? I saw the evening standard saying him and Ozil are asking to match Pogba's £290pw

I do not think we will sign Sanchez. But let's be real here, if Sanchez gave a "come get me Man City" moan, and Arsenal wee like, yeah we are done with you" it wouldn't matter who all those names you mentioned above were, we will go get him, and the others will find their level. Perhaps some will be sold, others loan our with but backs and the like: but for what it's worth, you don't say NO to Sanchez caliber player because you have some nice up and coming youngsters. You simply don't.

The way aguero is playing, you can imagine pep thinking he'd rather have Sanchez over him. If he's available, we'll be in for him.
